The 2024 election will fundamentally be a repeat of 2020.

Only Biden will win be a wider margin this go round.

Republicans deserve what's coming ; but the American people don't.
You need a better outlook on life, KB.

Currently residing in a beach front resort in Jupiter Florida.

Drinking my 2nd cup of coffee while watching the waves roll by.

Tomorrow going to Boca Raton for 5 days of house hunting ( wife wants a winter place in Florida within 5 months ) .

So my outlook is reasonably ok.

But what's coming down the road should be obvious to anyone with eyes.

And it's going to be an unmitigated disaster.

I think you are ignoring a large number of salient facts, but enjoy Florida and all that comes with it.

Give salient facts that mitigate the dangers involved caring for an additional 2-3 million illegals every year.

Salient facts regarding a 32 trillion dollar federal deficit.

Salient facts for the political weaponization of the FBI and DOJ

Salient facts for the opioid crisis, for the homeless situation and mental health crisis.

Salient facts for the decline in our military preparedness.

Salient facts that mitigate our inflationary spiral.

Florida is ok. Been here several times.

Maui is far better .
Maui is - sadly - still recovering from the wildfires from last year

The other things you mentioned are, if anything, detriments to the Biden campaign. He might have been able to leave the border open through last summer, then pivot and introduce a sound policy after most of the damage was done, but - being Biden - his inability to understand the optics of his policies has glued the illegals invasion to Joe as a liability.

But here are the salient facts:

1. Trump has been growing stronger in poll support since last summer, while Biden has weakened. This matters because Trump trailed in the 2020 polls pretty much all year, and despite trailing throughout 2016 Trump managed to win. A steady poll lead suggests Trump is in his best electoral position of the three campaigns.

2. The polls show Trump gaining strength among independents, especially minorities. The significance of this motion in support at the least suggests a lot of Black and Hispanic voters may stay home, depriving Biden of critical support in key states

3. 'Revenge' elections generally go the way of the challenger, except for Stevenson's rematch against Eisenhower. Jefferson's win in 1800, Jackson's 1828 win, and Cleveland's win in 1892 all demonstrate this trend.

4. In 2020 Biden was able to run against Trump's image and record, while selling his own as a stable, trustworthy alternative. Biden's record as President is likely to hurt him more than Trump's personality will cost him, in 2024.

5. The wars in Ukraine and Gaza appears to be out of control and with no resolution in sight, a call-back to Biden's failure in Afghanistan. If Trump makes his statements carefully, he can remind voters that no wars started during Trump's time as President, which will be attractive to moderate voters.

Lahaina is only a small part of Maui.

The rest of the island including the best beach areas are still very attractive.

You are basing all your salient 'facts' on the electability of Donald Trump.

A man under several felony indictments.

If he is found guilty on ANY of the charges Trumps slim odds of becoming president drops to zero.

He is not getting out of all the lawsuits unscathed. The GOP is decimating every other Candidate and then the door is going to slam shut when Trump is convicted. Leaving the GOP with no candidate in a position to compete. MAGA marching along in step with Joe's music.

Correct

Dems are in total control of this election.

They can destroy the MAGA nominee whenever they wish.

Worse, the Republican Party leadership knows exactly whats happening.

Yet did nothing to stop it.

Have never witnessed the Republicans so weak minded.

Him? Trump needs to move to the airways and become the new Rush. He is an entertainer, he is operating his political life as a Reality TV show. He should recognize he is done and let someone else run that won't be attacked to move the plan forward. What is funny, besides punting Abortion, Haley is pretty much on the same page policy-wise.

At some point, with 2 Parties, someone is going to have to work across the aisle. Or, we will continue the ping-pong of recent years, governing by Executive Order overturning everything every 4 years. We are not only making no headway, we are falling behind. We may be maintaining an edge, but 4 more years? I am worried about China.

China? Lol, you need to be more worried about Israel dragging us into a full on mid east war with Iran/Syria, Yemen etc with Russa backing them. Israel via AIPAC runs both of our parties so if a false flag goes off and one of our naval vessels gets sunk it's probably mid east ww3. Then China probably joins the team against us.

"Republican Party leadership " is all Trump, so I won't argue with weak minded. What do you want him to do?

Won't be attacked?

That person does not exist. The difference between Trump and every other GOP candidate is that he fights back and it pisses them off.

You don't think China is involved here? This is all China, Russia and Iran. Asymmetrical. They will keep us going in the Middle East and Israel, then take Taiwan.

Where has Haley said she would go to war or commit American troops? She said we are not prepared to protect ourselves or our allies. There is a difference between being prepared and going to war? She has said nothing different than Trump. Trump was President and didn't do ****, we were still in Afghanistan, Iraq and we went into Syria by the time he left! Not to mention he started sending Ukriane weapons. Trump got us further into the middle east war and Ukraine mess. Yet, you guys believe him and act like he is has a record of peace!

Her donors have not told her where yet….once they do she will let us know

PS

We spend about $700+ billion a year on defense (and no one has said we should change that)…we are well defended

We spend more than the next 10 combined (and many of those are our allies)

If he is found guilty on ANY of the charges Trumps slim odds of becoming president drops to zero.

He is not getting out of all the lawsuits unscathed. The GOP is decimating every other Candidate and then the door is going to slam shut when Trump is convicted. Leaving the GOP with no candidate in a position to compete. MAGA marching along in step with Joe's music.

Worse, the Republican Party leadership knows exactly whats happening.

Yet did nothing to stop it.

"Republican Party leadership " is all Trump, so I won't argue with weak minded. What do you want him to do?

Won't be attacked?

That person does not exist. The difference between Trump and every other GOP candidate is that he fights back and it pisses them off.

You currently have a party trying to jail its chief political opponent. The only way out of this is for that party to cease.

You don't think China is involved here? This is all China, Russia and Iran. Asymmetrical. They will keep us going in the Middle East and Israel, then take Taiwan.
If your gal Nikki Haley was president she'd have us in a war with all of the above. I'm not sure if there are enough lbtg+ rainbow warriors that would sign up to go fight in the new woke army. Maybe we could send a few million migrants over there.

What evidence exists that proves Nikki will get the US in a war ?

Since Trump is likely to catch at least one felony conviction , would you prefer Biden to remain as commander in chief ?

Where has Haley said she would go to war or commit American troops? She said we are not prepared to protect ourselves or our allies…!

Her donors have not told her where yet….once they do she will let us know

PS

We spend about $700+ billion a year on defense (and no one has said we should change that)…we are well defended

We spend more than the next 10 combined (and many of those are our allies)

Trump and Haley have the same foreign policy! Spending went up. Trump did **** to get us out of Afghanistan or Iraq and got us further into Ukraine and Syria. All he did was brow beat Merkel and Macron and suck Kims dick. You guys are delusional if you think Trump is any different than Haley! She was his Ambassador to the UN.

Under Haley you have the exact same chance of getting into a war and at least she can remember who is involved.

I'll vote RFK if they knock Trump out. Voting between Biden and Nikki is almost exactly like voting for OBama or Mccain. Two terrible choices that wont be much different. Nikki would be a puppet for the Zionists war people which leads me to believe she would be gung ho into a war wherever Israel wants it.

I fear you are right. They are not going to allow Trump to win. Hell, they may not allow him to be on the ballot if the court cases go their way.

I see Trump getting 90 million and losing. They will harvest, drop box, water main break, and outright collect every vote possible. No fraud, all legit people, just illegitimately collected just like 2020.

Or, I will be wrong and Trump will ride a Biden wave in to office. If he does, I just hope he governs and ignores the Dems. Not yet drawn into four years of fighting. I was better off under Trump, but will they let him?
Both of you need to think thru very carefully that part in bold. That is the premise of your argument. It presumes the game is already rigged. From there, a number of other fallacies flow, chiefly:

1) If Democrats are not going to allow Trump to win, they are not going to allow ANY Republican to win.
2) If Democrats have such power, does it not prove correct Trump's allegations about 2020?

Dems have outmaneuvered a totally leaderless Republican Party.

They have utilized the courts in partisan areas to have Trump jailed; IF it becomes politically necessary in order for the Dems to retain power.

However with 'voter harvesting' in the inner cities of swing states guaranteed to generate tens of thousands of 'votes', the national media overwhelmingly in the Dems camp, and Trumps horrible image with independents….

Dems might decide convicting Trump of various felonies is an unnecessary risk.

Trump can't win the general as it is. Even most Republicans know it.

You of all people should know this happens all the time in politics.

And I would gladly contribute to her stepping aside. She is a nutjob, who ran one of the worst campaigns I've ever seen and lost the most winnable race in the Country.
or you could donate to HER campaign and help her win.

She lost because of Republican division = the McCain faction crossed over to vote for Sinema. Look at the primary numbers and think it thru. She's got +40% of the primary vote in a 4-person race, right now, with 30% undecided. The 2nd place guy, Masters, is also a non-establishment candidate and has about 15% of the vote. The establishment candidates divide up the rest. That leaves hard-line conservatives at over half of the party, with the old McCain faction favorite with about 15% support. YET WIZARDS OF SMART THINK THE MODERATES WITH SINGLE DIGIT PARTY SUPPORT ARE THE BEST CHOICES!

How on earth does one expect to win general elections by putting up candidates that excites 15% or less of the GOP base?

Unless we're talking about two-person race where a point or three separates the two candidates, the candidate who wins the primary is the strongest candidate in the general. Lake will probably end up with close to 60% support in the primary, with the rest of the vote being split three ways. By any measure she is the strongest candidate., unless one believes that primaries are a bad idea and we need to let you and JR figure things out in a smoke filled drawing room, because you are smarter than the 2/3rds of the party that want a Lake-type candidate.

Geez, the smart people can come up with some doozy ideas.

The establishment end of the GOP has got to come to its senses and accept the reality that it cannot win ANYTHING without the 2/3rds of the party it insists are too crazy to matter, to decide to work with rather than against them. Why is it establishmentarians insist so hard on compromising with radical leftists instead of conservatives?

1) It's unlikely any of the law suits resolve prior to the election.
2) In the unlikely event one of them does resolve before the convention, there is plenty of time to replace him, should his support collapse.
3) the LEAST likely scenario of all is that one of the cases resolves during the window between the convention and election (ca 90 days).

We are at a 73 Easting moment here. McMaster had orders not to engage in force, was in a less-than desirable position for an attack, and had no solid understanding of what he was up against. BUT. He understood that the least-bad option he had was to launch a furious, full-scale, immediate attack. It worked. (and will be studied in military academies) for probably a millennia or so into the future.)

We are where we are, boys. Time to get busy about the business of winning. (because all the other options are worse.)

There is a difference between being rigged, which means that they are cheating to pre-determine a winner, and throwing every obstacle in his way within the existing rules. The Dems EXCEL at the second part, throwing every obstacle in his way to either keep him from winning OR making sure nothing gets done (He is playing Defense his whole term, like last time).

The Dems will use every obstacle they can find and when the investigation occurs it will be within the allowable processes so nothing sticks. They did it during the Trump Administration, they did in the 2020 election and now they are doing it with Trump the Candidate. This is what a Trump Administration will be like, Congressional Investigations, Impeachments, Law Suits on every Executive Action and the media on full "Jim Acosta Mode".

Sorry, we can't as a Nation afford 4 more years of that ***** Not for Trump or anyone else. Haley has more of a chance to get something done, not that it will be easy but she is at least willing to NOT continue to throw gasoline on a fire. Trump never learned that lesson, he is more interested in the Tweet or Rally punchline than getting anything done.

again, why would they do that against one Republican, but not another? Did they treat Bush 43 any better than Trump?

A little at a loss to understand why you cannot see the faulty premise of your reasoning here. If Dems really can do the things you say they will do against Trump, how on earth could you find a logical basis to conclude they would not do it against every other Republican, everywhere, all the time? (The only answer of course, is that they would not oppose a Republican who cooperates with them, to give their radicalism the fig-leaf of mainstream support. Dems would not accept such a construction placed upon them, so why should Republicans?)

We are going to have one of two things for the next 4 years: An other BIden term, which is a ****-show orders of magnitude greater than the one we experience under Trump, or we are going to have a repeat of 2016-2020. We can easily survive the latter, as nearly everything except the sensibilities of the estrogen-adjacent did pretty well during that time-frame. Biden, on the other hand, has got us in a pickle.

Dadburnit, man. What have you been smoking that leads to to presume that conservatives, to protect the nation, have a moral duty to go along with revolutionary progressive BS that is destroying the country?

Here is the problem that, for such a bright guy, you keep missing: MAGA candidates no longer win state-wide elections, by and large. We've been through 2 election cycles, and those who have been all-out MAGA and kissed the ring, like this fruitcake, got their asses kicked.

So, we can continue to nominate MAGA candidates who lose state and national elections, or we can come up with a different strategy. Yours is a losing strategy, unless the goal is to win the primary.

Here is the problem that, for such a bright guy, you keep missing: MAGA candidates no longer win state-wide elections, by and large. We've been through 2 election cycles, and those who have been all-out MAGA and kissed the ring, like this fruitcake, got their asses kicked.

So, we can continue to nominate MAGA candidates who lose state and national elections, or we can come up with a different strategy. Yours is a losing strategy, unless the goal is to win the primary.
I think you know that the RNC in its current form is the establishment and not supportive of Maga so they have intentionally withheld funds from maga candidates in those elections. Similarly I see many on here like to throw out Trump lost the house and the senate etc but most of the party was working to destroy Trump. This has been Mitch's strategy with Trump all along.
Mitch directed money away from Blake Master in Arizona and gave it to Murkowski so she could beat another Republican in Alaska.

KaiBear: "Trump can't win the general "

The polls and 2016 say otherwise. While 2016 won't exactly repeat, neither will 2020.

Trump may win, or he may lose. But saying he can't win is a lie straight out of Biden's mouth.
