Because, you know, now that Trump is the nominee, it will be easy to sweep the board in 2024
You of all people should know this happens all the time in politics.
And I would gladly contribute to her stepping aside. She is a nutjob, who ran one of the worst campaigns I've ever seen and lost the most winnable race in the Country.
or you could donate to HER campaign and help her win.
She lost because of Republican division = the McCain faction crossed over to vote for Sinema. Look at the primary numbers and think it thru. She's got +40% of the primary vote in a 4-person race, right now, with 30% undecided. The 2nd place guy, Masters, is also a non-establishment candidate and has about 15% of the vote. The establishment candidates divide up the rest. That leaves hard-line conservatives at over half of the party, with the old McCain faction favorite with about 15% support. YET WIZARDS OF SMART THINK THE MODERATES WITH SINGLE DIGIT PARTY SUPPORT ARE THE BEST CHOICES!
How on earth does one expect to win general elections by putting up candidates that excites 15% or less of the GOP base?
Unless we're talking about two-person race where a point or three separates the two candidates, the candidate who wins the primary is the strongest candidate in the general. Lake will probably end up with close to 60% support in the primary, with the rest of the vote being split three ways. By any measure she is the strongest candidate., unless one believes that primaries are a bad idea and we need to let you and JR figure things out in a smoke filled drawing room, because you are smarter than the 2/3rds of the party that want a Lake-type candidate.
Geez, the smart people can come up with some doozy ideas.
The establishment end of the GOP has got to come to its senses and accept the reality that it cannot win ANYTHING without the 2/3rds of the party it insists are too crazy to matter, to decide to work with rather than against them. Why is it establishmentarians insist so hard on compromising with radical leftists instead of conservatives?
