a conservative that votes for abortion, illegal immigration, higher taxes, etc. You sure?
He's now pretending that his vote for a wokester like Rochelle Garza, the AG candidate who supported defunding police forces, was "committed to restoring abortion access in Texas," wanted to unionize Texas, and wanted to expand LGBTQ+ rights, is not a vote for any of those.

In other words, he doesn't support those things, he just voted for people who do. What he doesn't realize is that's a distinction without a difference. He's stupid in that way.

Not agreeing with a conservative candidate on every issue is quite different from supporting a candidate that is diametrically opposed to all things conservatism.

Surely even someone as intellectually dishonest as yourself won't deny that.

Hate to burst your delusional, self-important bubble, but real conservatives don't vote for the party of wokeism.

Sorry.
Speaking of delusional, self important bubbles, let's see who you voted for.

Ag Commissioner who took a state plane out of state to get the Jesus Shot. IQ of a sack of potatoes.
https://apnews.com/article/60cd9eccb70240548ee7a339d9db63bb

Attorney General who is under indictment for securities fraud. He is such a good lawyer that he essentially admitted committing the elements of the crime in a press release.

But as a loyal Republican, you voted for these folks.

You continue to make the mistake of voting with your emotions instead of on policy. Let me help you understand where your vote went, my little Padawan:

Rochelle Garza, the AG candidate you voted for, is an unaccomplished plaintiff's attorney who wanted health care for all, supported defunding police forces, was "committed to restoring abortion access in Texas," wanted to unionize Texas, and wanted to expand LGBTQ+ rights. https://www.rochellegarzafortexas.com/issues

Susan Hays, the Ag Commissioner candidate you voted for, is a cannabis attorney who wants expansion of Medicaid to what is tantamount to universal health care, was for vaccine mandates, and wanted to legalize recreational use of marijuana. https://texassignal.com/a-conversation-with-agriculture-commissioner-candidate-susan-hays/

But as a "true conservative," you voted for these folks.

Yep, neither one is indicted or misused state planes
And yet, they can do far more damage to our state by instituting policies which are the antithesis of your purported conservative beliefs.

You are a fool.

At least I'm not a Republican hack

That is what the craziest Tea Party organizations, the ones controlled by libertarian groups, used to say. I spoke to one as a Ted Cruz surrogate one evening in Belton during his first primary contest. Every single time they mentioned the GOP, they did so in third person....."they" not "we," "the Republicans" not "us"..... Amazing thing to hear. THEY were the true conservatives. Republicans were just pretenders. absolute article of faith worldview.

And here we see OSO doing the same thing. Hugging the right pole with Ron Paul, holier than thou over any Republican, indiscriminately calling everyone who disagrees with him an establishment hack or Mau Mau, as though those two polar opposite identities were somehow interchangeable.

Of course we do. It's the nature of politics. I vote for GOP a bunch of candidates who promise to vote for school choice/vouchers, with is supported by a majority of almost every demographic in the state (except teacher's unions) yet never gets enacted into law despite Texas being an allegedly very red state even though other purportedly less-red states have already passed the necessary legislation.

But if I complain about it, apparently that's mau mau and it's very upsetting to Oso, so let's keep it on the down low that I'm frustrated......shhhhh.......

a conservative that votes for abortion, illegal immigration, higher taxes, etc.

Do Republicans do anything that you don't support?
Not agreeing with a conservative candidate on every issue is quite different from supporting a candidate that is diametrically opposed to all things conservatism.

Surely even someone as intellectually dishonest as yourself won't deny that.

How many Democrats did you vote for in the last election?
So you do vote for things that you don't support.

To reiterate, my obtuse and intellectually dishonest friend, I don't vote for politicians who support policies that are diametrically opposed to my conservative beliefs. No reasonable conservative would.

Tell us, which Democrats did you support this last election cycle?
I've never supported or voted for any Democrat.
Never? Good heavens, Sam. Not even I can say that. Surely you don't have to agree with a Democrat candidate on every single issue to vote for him. Right? Why not vote for a Democrat? Remember, you've been defending the logic of Oso's decision to vote for Democrats who are diametrically opposed to his purported conservative values.

Tell you what, let's break it down by issue then, since you for some reason just can't bring yourself to ever vote Democrat. What candidates have you voted for that were in favor of the defund the police movement? What candidates have you voted for that were committed to restoring abortion access in Texas? What candidates have you voted for who wanted to unionize Texas? Which candidates have you voted for that wanted to expand LGBTQ+ rights?. And if the answer is none of the above, why?
I'm not that interested in union issues, nor do I consider them essential to conservatism, so I don't know the answer to that. I may have voted for some libertarians in the past who were pro-choice. Probably wouldn't do so now that the issue has been returned to the states.
What about the other issues? And why would the candidate's stance on those issues prevent you from voting for them?

Which Dems have you voted for?

You already know the answer to this one. It's one of the reasons I voted for Trump, as he kept us out of unnecessary wars.

Since you didn't vote for Trump, tell us, are you in favor of proxy wars against Russia? Or is that just something you're willing to accept as the price of getting rid of the mean tweets?
I'm against the war, but plenty of Republicans other than Trump are for it. Both US senators from Texas, for example. If you don't support it, will you vote for people who do? Isn't that a distinction without a difference?
Depends on the alternative, and how strongly I feel about the policy at issue. In the case of the Ukraine war, it seems only a handful of Republicans oppose funding it. So what good is it to vote for the Democrat on a policy that is largely bipartisan?

As I tried to explain to you above to no avail, I don't vote for candidates who are diametrically opposed to my conservative worldview - much like yourself. It's the same reason you have never voted Democrat, or could not support someone who is pro-choice. No reasonable person who claims to be conservative would vote for a candidate with views that are diametrically opposed to his own purported views. That's insanity.

And yes, supporting a candidate who will work to employ policies that are the antithesis of conservatism is supporting those policies, whether tacit or not. It's pretty shocking that any reasonable person would try to defend such logic (or lack thereof).

How do you distinguish a candidate who's merely opposed to your worldview from one who is "diametrically" opposed? Is it just a matter of how strongly you feel? If Oso doesn't feel as strongly about a particular issue, can he vote his conscience and still be a conservative?
Do you believe "conservative" to be some fungible concept, with no clearly defined parameters? In other words, if a person such as Oso "feels" he is conservative, that means he's conservative, as long as of course he's voting his "conscience," regardless of the issue or candidate? What role, if any, does a person's voting record or positions on issues play in that characterization, in your mind?
Doesn't that question cut any number of ways.
In other words, if a person such as Mothra "feels" he is conservative, does that means he's conservative,

We've discussed this before. Youand I don't get to decide what conservative is.
Completely agree with the first paragraph. I believe how a person votes, the candidates he financially supports, and where he stands on certain issues are what give him the right to call himself conservative. In other words, it is not a fungible concept, but one defined by clear parameters - those I just mentioned. Sam seems to feel differently, thus, my questions.

As for the second paragraph, that's incorrect, and clearly contradicts your position that conservative is not a fungible characterization. As set forth above, since we know "conservative" has certain parameters and isn't some fungible concept, anyone can know who is conservative is by simply knowing how a person votes, the candidates he financially supports, and where he stands on certain issues.

You can call yourself whatever you want. Bottom line is you vote for the party of wokeism. I am just glad you've finally admitted it, and dropped any pretenses you were actually conservative.

Know thyself.

I'm the true Conservative, not Republican hack

a conservative that votes for abortion, illegal immigration, higher taxes, etc.

Is the Ukrainian proxy war against your conservative values?

No. Their statements and voting record are important. But you didn't answer my questions.

So, it sounds like you have never (and would never) vote for candidates who support such issues because they are opposed to your conservative beliefs. Correct?
I never have, unless you count Trump as pro-LGBT. I suppose I might, if the candidate a was moderate on those issues, they agreed with me on most other things, and their opponent was exceptionally bad.
