Nothing wrong with arrogance as long as you can back it up.

Trump is a *****, but he obviously can back it up.

Maybe it's time to have a smart ***** as president rather than a dementia riddled ***** .

Let's see if it holds when he is actually able to sell it.
So how many billions does Trump have to sell it for to garner your approval ?
How about 1 thing involving Trump being close to what the truth actually is? Everything about the guy is an estimate or leveraged or conditioned...

Incredibly weak response and you know it

Trump is a narcissist and a jerk….but obviously one of incredibly high energy and intelligence.

Your only other option is an old dementia case who wants to fund wars ( and possibly get involved in one ) and bring millions of illegals into our country.

So stop the charade and declare your priorities.
seriously? intelligent? nah. he is just dumb and clueless.
Yep

All billionaires are dumb and clueless.

Most millionaires are too.

It's the guys with thousands of dollars in student loan debt for a BA degree from a private university who are the brilliant ones.

All joking aside I suspect this 4.5 billion dollar estimate to be inflated.

But even if it is ' only ' one billion…..that's an incredible accomplishment.

You guys are so full of **** on the Trump stuff. Trump is a target BECAUSE he does stuff that MAKES him a target. He skirts the law and creates these situations with his own actions.

Big Donors have been in American politics since the beginning. They are necessary and won't be a target unless they do stupid ass stuff like Trump. You do Trump, Epstein, and other major donor stuff and you end up in court. Has nothing to do with political stance or donations.
I have talked to many of them, directly and indirectly over the years. Stood next to a TTech regent with a multi-state manufacturing business explain to a congressman about the wave of inspections he got within a 6 month period of making a modest donation to a Tea Party group, from agencies who had never previously darkened his door.. A more careful and soft-spoken gentleman has never been born. But after a single $1000 check to a small town Tea Party group, he whole alphabet soup showed up. Others I know are, quietly, terrified. All of them have been in court on business lawsuits and seen the bias of progressive judges first-hand. One of my hunting buddies (oil man) had this experience recently....incredible bias from an Obama appointee not just in the procedural rulings, but in the commentary that accompanied it. The jury got it right in his case. But it it had been up to the judge, my friend knew for sure he would have gotten a 7-digit haircut. A progressive is a progressive, and they explicitly espouse the virtues of a two-tiered justice system, and execute one when they can.

Most of my 5/6-digit donor friends initially supported RDS or Nikki, for reasons often expressed here. And after they dropped out, all of them got quickly behind Trump. Not one groused about it, either. They understood they just misjudged who "would" win the primary based upon what they thought "should" happen. (a point I've made here to others....the worst mistake an analyst can make is to fail to differentiate between what think "should" happen with what "will" happen.) The donor class is going to pony up to Trump big-time. And Trump's legal trouble is not at all the turn-off to them. They see what Trump is going thru and understand...."there by the grace of God go I....."

You are completely out of touch on this.
Watch less MSNBC.

I don't like Trumps personality whatsoever.

But if you don't think these legal attacks against the man are politically motivated; I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you for only 12 million dollars.

Cash

The point people keep missing is that Trump has done all these things that put him in a position that a Grand Jury brings back a refer charges recommendation. He asks for quid pro quo's from Foreign Leaders that let him be impeached. I can go on.

The legal attacks are all occurring because of his sloppiness, mouth and attitude that he can do anything. If you give you enemies the opportunities to nail you, they will.

I do not want a President that relies on people acting like they should not to come at us.

Will I vote for him over Biden, as of right now probably yes. He will at least shut the border.

since when do things like "mouth"...."attitude"....make one more likely to be charged for a crime than some quiet, sneaky crook?

the difference between being a crook or not is how sloppy one is? Can you not see the problems with that line of thinking?

You invite chaos with Trump. Border security is a great issue to debate and discuss but a single issue vote for Trump brings baggage and corruption. I am a Biden supporter and donor. In the countless texts and emails and mailings I get. I always check first Border Security. Biden has to get real about it.

Trump bring in a Govt by the kakistocracy.

Worst Leaders
noun, plural kakistocracies.
government by the worst persons; a form of government in which the worst corrupt persons are in power.
What does kakistocracy mean? A kakistocracy is a government in which the worst people are in charge. This obscure word is used in political commentary, especially to call out a government considered corrupt or incompetent
Until November, I will rail on Trump and Biden. I think they both suck. Hopefully, if enough people rail on Trump he will make choices on Cabinet members that are responsible. He has done it before. Mnuchin, Pompeo, Haley
if he's done it before, why would he not do it again?

Biden is IN power. And he sucks. Nothing will change if he's reelected. Trump did a better job and will restore sensible, traditional conservative policies. Given those two fairly uncontested realities, why on earth would you rag on BOTH of them?

How Trump Moved Money to Pay $100 Million in Legal Bills
Since leaving office in 2021, former President Donald J. Trump has spent more than $100 million on lawyers and other costs related to fending off various investigations, indictments and his coming criminal trials, according to a New York Times review of federal records.
The remarkable sum means that Mr. Trump has averaged more than $90,000 a day in legal-related costs for more than three years none of it paid for with his own money.
Instead, the former president has relied almost entirely on donations made in an attempt to fight the results of the 2020 election.
Now, those accounts are nearly drained, and Mr. Trump faces a choice: begin to pay his own substantial legal fees or find another way to finance them.
Still, the account paying Mr. Trump's legal bills will most likely be out of money by summer at the current spending pace.
Then, Mr. Trump will have to decide: Whose money will he use to pay his lawyers?

So what ?

Billionaires are dumb? Trump is a billionaire only if he uses other people's money
Does that make him smart?

Trump is worth 4.57b just from the Truth Social stock.. using his lightening rod personality to create a social media company has paid off as of today.. that makes him smart

Why use campaign donations to post bond on his property & legal fees?
Smart people don't get captured by N Viet Nam or indicted 4 times
being smart doesnt mean politically savy..

If I had a choice between using money that was mine and using money that was given to me that I cant keep but could be used for this purpose.. you have to think about that? I dont

Then Trump' is your man

in this instance, thats not a bad thing..

If you had a million in the bank and wanted to buy a property to rent to others, do you pay cash for it and let the renters pay you back or do you borrow from bank and let the renters pay the bank back keeping your money available for other things?

Nothing wrong with either way but rich people tend to leverage others money for their benefit.

You need to get a political party to pay off your mortgages, judgements, and liens.
(BTW, I like the rental property plan.)

Trump's Deal With R.N.C. Prioritizes PAC Paying His Lawyers
A share of donations taken in by the Republican National Committee will go to the group footing his legal bills before any of the cash goes to the party itself.

The new fund-raising agreement comes shortly after Donald J. Trump has functionally taken over the Republican National Committee as the party's presumptive nominee.

Former President Donald J. Trump's new fund-raising agreement with the Republican National Committee directs a portion of donations to the political account he has used to pay his legal bills before any money goes to the party itself.

The invitation shows that the first $6,600 donated will go to Mr. Trump's campaign. The next $5,000 will go to his Save America PAC, which paid more than $50 million in legal and investigation-related bills for Mr. Trump in 2023. The $5,000 amount is the maximum that federal rules say can be contributed to Save America by an individual.
After that, the R.N.C. gets the next $413,000, followed by dozens of state parties.
In practice, what that means is that even modestly large contributors anything above $6,600 will fund the account that Mr. Trump has used to defray legal costs. And the fund-raising agreement came as Save America, which has averaged roughly $5 million a month in legal payments for Mr. Trump and witnesses in his cases, is on course to run low on funds as the spring ends.
The prioritization of Mr. Trump's Save America PAC before the Republican National Committee was first reported by The Associated Press.
The new fund-raising agreement comes shortly after Mr. Trump has functionally taken over the R.N.C. as the presumptive Republican nominee. He pushed to install a new chairman, Michael Whatley, and to have his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, as co-chair.
Trump officials have angrily pushed back on suggestions that the R.N.C. will be defraying any of Mr. Trump's personal legal fees. The new arrangement allows Mr. Trump to tap funds from larger donors for his legal matters without the money ever passing through the R.N.C.
Mr. Trump is already directing 10 percent of every dollar he raises online to his PAC, a share that he raised from 1 percent early in his presidential run.

Dude had stacked up $500m in cash to use in his campaign. SONY saw it, went lawfare after it, got a judgment against him for almost the exact same amount.

Happy Easter from Reagan 1983:

"This week as American families draw together in worship, we join with millions upon millions of others around the world also celebrating the traditions of their faiths. During these days, at least, regardless of nationality, religion, or race, we are united by faith in God, and the barriers between us seem less significant. Observing the rites of Passover and Easter, we're linked in time to the ancient origins of our values and to the unborn generations who will still celebrate them long after we're gone. As Paul explained in his Epistle to the Ephesians, He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. So then you were no longer strangers and aliens, but you were fellow citizens of God's household.' "

"This is a time of hope and peace, when our spirits are filled and lifted. It's a time when we give thanks for our blessings - chief among them, freedom, peace, and the promise of eternal life."

"This week Jewish families and friends have been celebrating Passover, a tradition rich in symbolism and meaning. Its observance reminds all of us that the struggle for freedom and the battle against oppression waged by Jews since ancient times is one shared by people everywhere. And Christians have been commemorating the last momentous days leading to the crucifixion of Jesus 1,950 years ago."

"Tomorrow, as morning spreads around the planet, we'll celebrate the triumph of life over death, the Resurrection of Jesus. Both observances tell of sacrifice and pain but also of hope and triumph."

Borrowing against equity is hardly nefarious behavior. Neither does the cash he's raised so far indicate he's tapped out all existing equity. Rather, it merely shows that no bank or prudent businessman wants max out debt/equity limits, that bankers are understandably reluctant to degrade an already well-collateralized position with additional debt, that 2nd and 3rd lien positions are not entirely desirable. The only way to get max cash out of a position is to sell at your own discretion. Any other option degrades available equity.

The people chasing him know that, and are banking (no pun intended) that the average person doesn't.

But I don't think the $240 million is accurate.

More like $60 million at the time ($140 million today) and in loans.

But yes he got a big big head start by family wealth and his real genius has been in self promotion more than anything else.

Still it's America and he has made himself into a brand…a successful one.

Kim Kardashian did it as well and no one is complaining

Hey JR.. think he might be a billionaire now?

You want to talk Bill Gates? Mark Cuban? Bezos? Right on, real smart guys, brilliant. Billionaires that created their wealth.

You want to talk Trump? Talk Fred Trump... He built the Trump real estate business. Look into how they made their money and what he started with before putting Donald in the "self-made" billionaire man talk.

Anybody that grew up in New York knows Trump. I can understand how you guys from Texas and out west only know the Trump he wants you to know. But, talk to people from New York and tell me how many think Trump is a genius, self-made man or even smart. To most New Yorkers and NJ, Trump is a piece of ****, definitely not on the pedestal you guys put him.

Not surprising, I would bet my views on the oil guys differ from those that grew up in Texas or mining out west. I only know what I read on them. My Dad was in the corporate real estate business (gas stations) in NY in the 60's and 70's and dealt with the Trumps.

( sigh )

Bottom line

The vast majority of billionaires are smart businessmen .

Otherwise they can't accumulate or maintain their fortunes.

Trump is no different .

But if it somehow makes one content to believe he is just ' lucky '……..sure; why not .

You honestly see no difference from a Bezos or Cuban and a Trump?

He inherited 40 million in 74 (250M in 24 dollars). More importantly, he inherited strategic real estate. My Chesapeake Bay Retriever can sell interest in the Plaza Hotel on Central Park for a profit. His Dad got those properties that still make up the core of Trumps wealth in the 20's. If anything, he weakened the portfolio.

Now, if you want to talk about being a self-marketer? Trump is elite. Barnum has nothing on Trump. He does excel at taking other people's money in a Ken Copeland/Pat Robertson sort of way. I guess there is an intelligence in that.

How many Trump Bible's are you in for?

He is definitely not on the level of a Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos.

But I don't think the $240 million is accurate.

If you are nominating Kim K for President... I am complaining! Although, she has a law degree.

As for the Trump situation, I think the strategic value of the properties that Fred Trump acquired during the 20's and Depression are more responsible for his wealth than anything else. But, you are correct. He does have it.

In all honesty, the biggest issue with Trump is his mouth. No one really cares, but when you go out and keep railing how great you are. It doesn't prompt the best responses...

We'll certainly…

Trump lies about his self made man shtick…his enemies lie about him (and now try to steal is property through the courts)

It's a circus that shows just how corrupt the ruling class has become and how clownish American society and politics have become.

But again…Trump is a symptom of a lager system wide rot…not the disease…heck he is not even a major symptom even

I used to think that way. But, I have come to the realization is that Trump is a unique ********. I cannot see all this happening to anyone else, nor has it. He just brings out the worst in people, he screams do it to me I dare you. I can actually see N Korea or China getting pissed enough to drop a nuke just to spite him.
