Give me a break, Sam. Not one of the charges against Trump would have even been brought, except the Democrats coordinated a series of suits and accusations intended to hurt his image and cost him money/energy/time.

Your pathetic defense of such tactics reveals a nasty lack of character, Sam. And yet malignant haters like you actually helped the voters to understand that Trump represented anyone who got in the way of the Machine.

A lot of people voted for Trump despite his ego and hyperbole, precisely because they learned the Left really is evil, and their supporters are everything they accuse MAGA people of being.

MAGA on Nov. 5: "Trump was president before and never acted like a dictator."

MAGA on Nov. 7: "We've been warning you, this isn't the same Trump!"

I'll bet you a dollar American democracy survives another 4 years of Trump. Let me know if you're game.
Do you think Trump should imprison Letitia James?

Not unless she's convicted of a crime that carries with it said punishment.

But generally I'm against the Rs behaving like the Ds have the last 4 years. It's interesting you're suddenly not ok with law fare.
Nothing sudden about that. It's why I always criticized Alvin Bragg's prosecution of Trump.

Hmm I seem to recall you defending those novel charges in our discussions on the subject.
Of course you do.

We actually had a long discussion on the New York statute. I pointed out for you the number of times this type of thing had been prosecuted, we went round and round over this and why it was unprecedented. Yet you defended the validity of the charges even if you disagreed that it should have been prosecuted. You can feign ignorance if you like, but that is what happened.

Naturally, you're going to try to spin and engage in revisionist history. It's what you do.

Biggest non-surprise of the day.

All those people who swore Trump was going to attack them and put them in camps, etc.?

Not even one of them has even begun to make plans to leave the country. They continue eating at the same restaurants, going to their clubs and saying whatever they like on the air and online, clearly not afraid Trump will do any of the many things they claimed.

Arrogant hypocrites, all.

Interesting digression.

We were talking about Trump's lawyer threatening to imprison the NY attorney general for prosecuting him. Apparently we're now talking about imprisoning the judge as well.

Thoughts?

Sam, you haven't had a problem with the lawfare against the Repubs the last 4 years and have, in fact, largely supported it. Why the sudden change of heart?
Some of the charges against Trump are valid, and some are not. Those who don't look closely might be forgiven for not knowing the difference.

Trump is threatening the prosecutor in a pending case in which he has an interest. It's hard to look at that kind of brazenness and claim you don't see a red flag.

We also had this discussion if you recall. I agreed with you that the document charges were valid, but shouldn't have been prosecuted - a discussion I remembered because you actually agreed with me on that point - a rare occurrence. However, we went round and round over the Florida charges and, as stated above, the state court charges.

Bottom line is you defended the validity of the charges, even if You disagreed, they should be prosecuted. Im sure your selective memory has forgotten those discussions.

Like I said, I criticized Bragg's lawfare against Trump. I may not have criticized it on the same specious grounds that you did, but that's beside the point.

So, back to the question of imprisoning "leftist" prosecutors and judges. I assume you think that's evil and malignant too?

Started a thread on the same point yesterday.

No way in the world Biden got 81 million votes in 2020 only to see Harris go back down to Obama / Clinton numbers.

Another 'unsolvable mystery' much like the Epstein Client List.

Do you think Trump should imprison Letitia James?
only if she continues abusing the powers of her office to infringe upon the liberties of American citizens.
What about the NY Supreme Court justice who ruled in her favor? Should he be imprisoned too?
Perhaps. He wouldn't be the only NY judge who abused his seat on the bench. But that is a call for juries to make. Given the trip to the woodshed the NY appellate gave her (and by extension him), a proper prosecution should not be ruled out.

NY judicial system shat their britches trying to nail Trump. Stain on the whole state.
I don't think the appellate court has decided yet, but thanks for your candor.
true, but we heard the justices grilling the state attorneys and it highlighted how far out of bounds are the Trump prosecutions.

For the record, she should be investigated. She has richly earned disbarment. If she has also broken the law, then she should be prosecuted and/or subjected to civil litigation for damages.

Sure, unless they've committed cognizable crimes. I just think it's odd you all the sudden have a problem with it. You didn't seem to have much righteous indignation when it was Republicans being prosecuted.

But now it's a bridge too far for Sam Lowry. LOL.

Yeah I wouldn't bank on that. The guy rubbed shoulders with essentially all of the power brokers in the world; left and right. The vested interest in that list is the elites of the world, not the left or the right.

Having been a client of Epstein or even going to the island, in and of itself doesn't mean much. You might be hard pressed to find anyone who hadn't been there, didn't know him or had some dealings with him…including Trump.

Some people he knew are guilty as sin of some pretty awful things but that does not mean that everyone he knew is. There were sometimes parties on his island that included prostitutes and under age men and women but not every party ever held there. If that makes sense.

The reason it hasn't been a bigger deal is that you're not going to get the world elite tattling on themselves. "I know person X did thing Y…because I was there when it happened". Zero chance you're going to have someone come forward like that.

"line of sight is reciprocal" the snipers will tell you.

In a free society, politicians across the spectrum should instinctively understand that "whatever I do to my political opponents is ok for him to do to me." Democrats have become absolutely immune to such thinking. So how do we educate them?
