Jury pools matter. There are differences b/w Rittenhouse and Perry trials, but fundamentally both guys had clear self-defense cases. In Wisconsin - outside Milwaukee/Madison - it was still possible to get a fair jury. In Austin, TX - lefty playpen - this is apparently hard.

It never ceases to be funny to me that Texas’ lolbertarianism continues to neuter the state officials their people elect in favor of arcane bureaucratic strictures. “Well we would address this but our legislature is only allowed to meet every other year.” https://t.co/PlSODubHPi

Austin has quickly become San Francisco in Texas. It has become a place in Texas to avoid if any way possible.
Never let up. Pressure @GregAbbott_TX every day until this man is pardoned. You can’t have a state with castle doctrine & constitutional carry where liberal DAs lock you up for self defense in your vehicle. https://t.co/gKmgQeqgZS

Oh by the way Austin police determined it was a justifiable homicide, but it was brought to grand jury by progressive prosecutor, against the wishes of the lead detective, who testified that the DA was engaged in both witness tampering and suppression of exculpatory evidence. pic.twitter.com/ZyLbzhLFGJ

You are dumb as f*** to SURROUND a person's car. It's like backing a tiger into a corner, they are going to do whatever they have to do in self defense. Remember Reginald Denny? Nobody wants to become that guy.
Leftists, when discussing obvious self defense situations, say stuff like “he had no business going to a riot” as if the defendants in these situations aren’t free Americans who can go wherever they damn well please at any hour.

The best part of this statement is that he explicitly blames the jury. It's good for people to say out loud that the issue isn't *just* scheming liberal elites or the criminal underclass, but also complicit "normal" liberals who enable this kind of outlandish overreach. https://t.co/FtwopUYGXZ

Cops cannot be everywhere all the time. Part of the reason there is an absolute right of self-defense to any murder charge is that it’s an additional deterrent to criminality. A rape or robbery victim who kills perpetrator sends an even stronger message than cop making arrest.
— FischerKing (@FischerKing64) April 9, 2023
…so sending guys like Perry to jail - this is actually part of the broader effort to rid communities of policing, make them more unstable, all to benefit criminals. Idk what their actual logic is - but this is the effect and most of them know it.

Absolutely! If I heard there was going to be an Antifa/ BLM rally in San Antonio, the last thing I am going to do is be in the middle of that idiocy.Rawhide said:And his attackers tooRD2WINAGNBEAR86 said:

This is not about politics.

Have a really hard time with this one. No doubt the Travis County DA is as bad as they come. He truly is as incompetent DA as any in the United States, and his decision not to prosecute criminals has made Austin unsafe.
But this man was tried by a jury of his peers, who believed he did something wrong. And believe it or not, Travis County juries aren't the bastion of liberals that people think they are. They are very diverse in both race and politics.
I haven't seen all the evidence, but I suspect there is a lot more to this story.
