How long do you want to ignore this user?
When you pray, BTD, what sins do you confess?

Or do you just brag about your perfection and sneer about everyone else trying to follow the Lord?

A knee-jerk response, as expected.

I cannot help but wonder what thought you ever give to anyone else's posts?

You seem very much rooted to one very egotistical position.

But to your question about Waco, what do you imagine Christ wants for us?

Do you imagine Christ only cares about those who perfectly, or nearly so, serve Him?

In the parable of the three servants, one served very well, one less so, and one not at all. Note that being less than perfect does not mean you are rejected by Christ.

Waco and I disagree on many subjects, but while I make my opinion known and try to help him improve his ways. I am not his judge and neither are you.

More personal attacks rather than real substance. Hardly surprising. You simply can not defend your position without doing this. It's the primary reason why you receive my criticism.

Regarding Waco, the question wasn't whether or not you should be his judge. The question was do you call out his heresy, or do you sit idly by. It's documented that you didn't sit idly by. (And you did more than just "make your opinion known to try to help him") So why do you judge others for doing the same?

More personal attacks without actually contending against what I've said. Do you see why you get harshly crticized?

Can you honestly tell me that showing how Roman Catholicism calls Mary the "All Holy One", for example, is me "bragging about my perfection" and "sneering at others trying to follow the Lord"?? Following the LORD?? Seriously??

Your hatred of me really does blind you and your discernment of what is right and good. Let's remind ourselves that you once called me "Satan".

Let's be absolutely clear about this: are you really saying that a person who believes, and teaches, that Jesus was NOT raised bodily after death, and that God is NOT supernatural, thus he did NOT create the heavens and the earth.....

....you believe this person is NOT rejected by Jesus? You're saying this person is someone who Jesus considers to be one of his?

Every believer must "complete the process" as it works itself out in that individual's life. There is no specific length of time, nor formula. Saint Dismas' only fruit was his profession of faith as he was baptized in his own blood and died on the cross next to Christ in a matter of hours. Other Christians serve God for decades before their earthly bodies fall asleep in Christ.

Matthew 20:1-15 addresses this.

but rather, whether every true believer is already sealed/predestined to complete it. In other words, "once saved, the salvation process will be completed, thus once saved, always saved". That would be completely in line with the apostle Paul's teaching that once a person believes, the Holy Spirit enters them and is a SEAL and GUARANTEE of their salvation (2 Corinthians 1:22, Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 4:30). And also completely in line with Paul's view in Romans 8 - "For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified."

There is no such thing as a "true believer". That's a construct made necessary by the event salvation, OSAS heresy. There are believers, and there are unbelievers. Sheep and goats. Wheat and tares. There is no special organic wheat in the Kingdom of God. If you want to make the case that the elect are only those who complete their races, I suppose you could make that case. I don't really know what benefit that is though, as it is analysis through hindsight.

Quote:

In addition, it's completely in line with Jesus' claim, also in John chapter 6: "And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day." If you're gonna say that the disciples who left Jesus were true believers who stopped believing, then you have to say that Jesus' claim here is false, or that God's will was thwarted.

No, Jesus doesn't lose anything. But we've already seen that disciples can walk away and forefeit their salvation. If you forefeit a game, you haven't lost it. You've just decided not to play.

If salvation is a "process" which must be completed, otherwise salvation is not attained, then there exists a point where the process is NOT completed, at which point if the person were to die, then they would not be saved, even as they have faith in Jesus.

Incorrect.

Your one-word "debunkings" have pretty much lost all credibility in these forums. Gonna need a lot more than "incorrect" to show what I'm saying is wrong.

There are no one-word debunkings in my repertoire. The substance of those posts is always in the link that no one reads.

In this case I'm just reminding you of what some of us have already explained. Catholics and Orthodox don't believe many of the things you attribute to them.

I've cited their (your) actual dogmas, magisterial teachings, traditions, and even their own direct quotes. You're attempting a ridiculous level of gaslighting. You're still not even explaining how my above comment was "incorrect". This is what those steeped in deception are usually unable to do.

I challenge anyone, including you, to name one thing I've attributed to Catholics or Orthodox that isn't true or isn't taught by them, or one thing I've attributed to a poster here that wasn't what they themselves stated as their belief.

You cite your extrapolations from Catholic dogma, which are often far removed from what we actually believe. This has been pointed out many times. If you're concerned that the Church is in error, it would benefit you to understand why. Otherwise you're just disagreeing with yourself.

How are any of my "extrapolations" of Catholic dogma "far removed" from what Roman Catholicism professes to believe? You're still not giving any specifics. How is it "far removed" to extrapolate from your catechism which directly calls Mary the "All Holy One", that Roman Catholicism teaches that Mary is the All Holy One? Am I just going to get more gaslighting on that one?

Who is the "All Holy One"? Who else but God, right?

According to Roman Catholicism, Mary is the All Holy One:

"...By asking Mary to pray for us, we acknowledge ourselves to be poor sinners and we address ourselves to the "Mother of Mercy," the All-Holy One. We give ourselves over to her now, in the Today of our lives. And our trust broadens further, already at the present moment, to surrender "the hour of our death" wholly to her care. May she be there as she was at her son's death on the cross..." (Catechism 2677)

In their lives and in their death, Roman Catholics "give themselves wholly over to Mary's care". It's straight out of their catechism. And Roman Catholics say they don't worship Mary??
Is that worship? No.

Do Catholics think that Mary is God? No.

You challenged this post to find something that you attributed to Catholics or Orthodox that wasn't true.

I did. I cited two. You still haven't provided from the Catechism that states that we "worship Mary" or we believe in works-based salvation.

In all your posts you've consistently demonstrated that do not (and sadly will not) understand what Catholics truly believe.

I, and several others, have repeatedly explained the Church's actual beliefs with charity. You tirelessly misrepresent, misconstrue, and misinterpret what Church teaches. Just like sola scriptura, you interpret the Church's doctrines with your opinion.

I do not know why the Lord has allowed you to harden your heart like pharaoh's. Maybe he has allowed Satan to use your pride to keep you from the truth.

Please know that I continue to pray for you twice a day to accept what the Church actually teaches.

OK, let's be clear about this:

1. God makes the decision, not you

2. You regularly post in anger and spite, then accuse others of it

3. Scripture makes clear that many will miss Heaven who expect it, while many who do not expect Heaven will enter. It is therefore proud and arrogant to judge someone's soul in your own anger, as you do so often, BTD

4. God uses three ways to teach people and edify them; Righteousness, Faith and Mercy. All three of those ways show up throughout Scripture

5. The Bible is full of accounts of good men who failed their promise, and wicked men who were redeemed by God for God's purpose and Grace. This never meant that our actions do not matter, but it is wrong to presume God's will by our own pride.

I have tried reasoning with you, and all it seems to do is encourage your hatred and arrogance. Therefore I will ignore you for the rest of this year, in hopes that someone else may help you change course. Certainly if nothing else. ignoring you will prevent me from Sin in anger at your attacks and lies, so that I may better follow Christ in the spirit and character he exemplified for us.

Goodbye, BusyTarpDuster. I hope you may yet find your way back to the hope and joy of Christ's fellowship.

You failed to show that you don't worship Mary. You're only denying that you do. You're doing one thing, and saying another. It's obvious to anyone with an honest and rational mind. Again, you're like a Planned Parenthood person denying that they're murdering babies, because their website says that they're not. You're just in denial of reality.

Here's essentially what you're arguing:

{God's people, Israel, bowing to statues of Baal and praying to it, offering songs of praise, kissing it, holding festivals for Baal, calling Baal the "All Holy One"}

God: "You are worshiping Baal!"

Israel: "No, we're not! Show us in our Torah where it says we worship Baal!"

This is essentially the ridiculousness and foolishness of your argument.

Calling Mary "All Holy One" is most definitely worship of her. It is ASTOUNDING how you don't see the HUGE problem with that, and you just blow it off like it's nothing. You truly are bewitched by Satan. I got news for you - if you are ok with calling Mary the "All Holy One", then God, who is the one true All Holy One, probably isn't listening to your prayers.

You don't consider the Mother of God holy?

How is calling her "All-holy one" worship?

Luke called her "Full of Grace." She's the Mother of God.

The Church does not call Mary "the Holy One" in the way it refers to Jesus. When referencing titles like "All-Holy" for Mary, the Church is emphasizing her unique sanctity and role within salvation history.

Again, you are making up what you think worship is. I asked you to provide what Catholics say that worship is. You didn't.

Here are two aspects of Worship as describe in the Catechism:

1. **Adoration**: Worship involves adoration, which is the first act of acknowledging God as Creator and Savior. Adoration is expressed in prayerful praise, thanksgiving, and reverence. (CCC 2096)

2. **Acknowledgment of God's Lordship**: Worship recognizes God's majesty and sovereignty over all creation. It involves the humble submission to God's authority and will. (CCC 2097)

Catholic NEVER claim that Mary is God, nor does the Church offer sacrifice to her.

Your biases and pride have allowed Satan to cloud your judgment. You've demonstrated this with your lack of theological understanding in the nature of prayer.

God hears all prayers.

I'll continue to pray for you, irrespective of your comments.

While there isn't a specific personality disorder for those who believe they know more about the Bible, Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is often associated with individuals who exhibit a sense of superiority and a belief in their unique understanding, potentially including religious or scriptural knowledge. This is often linked to a "God complex" where they believe they possess exceptional abilities or a special connection to a higher power.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

* NPD and Grandiosity:People with NPD often have an inflated sense of self-importance and a need for excessive admiration. They may believe they are uniquely qualified to interpret religious texts and hold themselves above others in spiritual understanding.
* Lack of Empathy:A core feature of NPD is a lack of empathy, which can manifest as a dismissive attitude towards those who disagree with their interpretations. They may degrade or discount others' views, especially if they challenge their perceived authority on religious matters.
* "God Complex":The term "God complex" is often used to describe individuals with NPD who exhibit a grandiose view of their own power, influence, or importance, potentially including a belief that they are divinely inspired or uniquely connected to God.
* Other Considerations:While NPD is a strong possibility, other personality disorders like Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD) can also manifest in legalistic and rigid interpretations of religious texts. OCPD is characterized by excessive orderliness, perfectionism, and control, which can lead to a focus on rules and regulations rather than the deeper meaning of faith.

Planned Parenthood: "I've told you to provide what we ourselves say murder is. You'll see by our own definition, we are not murdering babies."

The saddest thing is watching someone gaslight themselves like this. One thing I've learned from talking with you Catholics, is that the human mind will do ANYTHING it can to justifiy what it WANTS to believe, even if the contrary is literally screaming in their faces. You would say 1+1 is 3 if your beliefs depended on it.

The two elements of worship you provided is EXACTLY what you do to Mary:

1. Adoration, in prayerful praise, thanksgiving, and reverence - HOW IS THIS NOT WHAT YOU DO TO MARY?? I've demonstrated this over, and over, and over....

2. Acknowledgement of Mary's sovereignty and "lordship", even over creation- YOUR PRAYERS CALL HER "SOVEREIGN". Your prayers say she is the "ruler of my house", "our hope and refuge", "peacemaker between sinners and God", "GOD OF THIS WORLD", and say that you "place [your] salvation in her hands". Your psalms of her take the Psalms from the Old Testament, and remove God and Jesus and replace them with Mary. In those psalms, MARY is the dispenser of grace and mercy. And you call her "THE ALL HOLY ONE".

Only a complete fool, bewitched by Satan can't see that all this, along with your praying and bowing to her statue, singing hymns to her in church, holding numerous festivals for her throughout the year, etc is pure worship. Watching you deny this is like watching a husband who was caught cheating on his wife, but tries to semantically get out of it, saying "kissing her, having sex with her, spending all my time talking to her and thinking about her - that's not cheating on you, that's just hyper-friendship!"

{God's people, Israel, bowing to statues of Baal and praying to it, offering songs of praise, kissing it, holding festivals for Baal, calling Baal the "All Holy One"}

All believers are made holy by God through Jesus.

Roman Catholicism: "Mary is holy (little "h")........ therefore she is THE ALL HOLY ONE".

"The Dogmatic Constitution of the Church (Lumen Gentium) Vatican II declares that the Blessed Virgin is invoked by the Church under the titles of Advocate, Auxiliatrix, and Mediatrix."

Advocate, I'll buy. All the saints - those who stand next to us in our churches and those whose bodies have fallen asleep before ours - are part of the great cloud of witnesses and are our advocates.

Auxillatrix and Mediatrix are bridges way too far. They tread in the territory of God the Father's essence being shared outside of the Son and Holy Spirit which is heretical.

Luke called her "Full of Grace." She's the Mother of God.

The Church does not call Mary "the Holy One" in the way it refers to Jesus. When referencing titles like "All-Holy" for Mary, the Church is emphasizing her unique sanctity and role within salvation history.

So, let's be absolutely clear.... you believe and affirm that Mary is the All Holy One??

THE ALL HOLY ONE??

And as a professed believer and worshiper of GOD, you truly don't see anything wrong with that?

I can't and won't even agree with "Advocate". That's a title with a capitalized first letter. That means that they are saying she is more than just someone who "advocates". They believe everyone in heaven advocates for the people on earth, but they are not all called "Advocate". They are giving Mary a position of primacy with regard to advocation, something that is completely absent in Scripture and in churches of the apostles. It is a complete invention that started from Gnosticism. Mary being an "Advocate" is just a stepping stone to deifying her in their minds. That is the goal. That's how you go from "Mary was highly favored and blessed among women" (perfectly Scriptural) to "Mary is sinless, perpetually pure, and ascended bodily to heaven where she is the sovereign Queen of Heaven, rules with God, and mediates for us sinners" (completely usurping Jesus, which is utter and egregious blasphemy and idolatry) and that she is the "road to God" and that "through her we obtain all things". And then ultimately, it goes to "Mary is the ALL HOLY ONE". It's all straight from Satan, and he has led Roman Catholicism like a frog in hot water.

Roman Catholics, please WAKE UP.

I mean it for it what it means - blind, stupid, and foolish is what you are, if you're a professed Christian, and you don't see the utter evil in calling a human being "THE ALL HOLY ONE". It's not un-Christ-like to speak the truth against this level of evil, and in fact, I question if you are really a Christian if you don't. Paul said "O, foolish Galatians!" to those who were accepting a distorted gospel. Jesus and John the Baptist called the Pharisees "brood of vipers" and Jesus told them "your father is Satan" for their hateful rejection of him.

You defend this belief system which calls Mary "THE ALL HOLY ONE", to the point of evil, hateful vitriol. Think about what that says about you. Blind, stupid, and foolish - you own it, so now wear it.

I hear John MacArthur is close to death. He has been a stalwart of biblical truth throughout his ministry, and one of my favorites. He might be going home soon.

Here is a video short of him that involves an interaction that I think encapsulates the kind that I'm having here with many commenters. Listen to what MacArthur says. Here, he's speaking about the charismatic movement and prosperity preachers, but the concept can apply to any false religious movement/teaching. Truer words may never have been spoken:

False witness.

You know absolutely nothing about what's in my heart. You desperately want to make it about me feeling that I'm "superior" to others here, so you don't have to acknowledge the fact that you can not contend against what I'm saying, and that what I'm saying is showing you to be wrong. And that makes you uncomfortable, so you lash out at me personally.

Instead of looking up narcissistic personality disorder, you and others really need to look up immature defense mechanisms.

I'm not at all surprised that you say I'm not normal. You probably have never really recognized true discernment and contending for the truth. The real truth is that there's nothing abnormal about my behavior... rather, what IS abnormal is someone who professes to be a Christian but who doesn't contend against the utterly evil beliefs being promoted, like Mary being "THE ALL HOLY ONE", or the false works-based gospel which the Bible calls ACCURSED, but rather focuses their attack on the person who is exposing it. Which spirit do you think leads you to do this? I'll give you a hint, it's the same spirit leading curtpenn.

Please, sir or ma'am, your attempt at controlling the narrative with your ad hominems so that the focus is off the false teachings and beliefs that are being exposed - that's failing. You've doing absolutely nothing to hide the fact that you got the whole "book of life" thing wrong and that you played games to run away from that fact. You'd do much, much better if you focused on what you're getting wrong about the gospel, especially since you say you teach it in your church.

Here's an excerpt from that video of John MacArthur I posted earlier. It's very pertinent for you and others here:

"It is a strange irony to me... that if you criticize (false views), if you endeavor to be vigilant and discerning, and if you endeavor to contend for the truth, and hold them to Scripture, and expose their error.... they will condemn YOU as the sinner... they have to turn discernment into iniquity..., attack truth warriors, and turn them into enemies of the Holy Spirit." - John MacArthur

Here is the "narcissistic personality disorder" talking, I guess: the problem with the view that at the very end the "book of life" will be opened and if your works listed in there aren't up to par, you go to hell, is mainly twofold:

1) this is not what the book of life is, or what it's for. The book of life contains the names of all who are saved to eternal life. If your name is in there, you have eternal life. Period. There is no judgment of your works listed in there to determine your salvation. In fact, Jesus made that clear in John 5:24 - "Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life."

2) this view, that one must have a certain amount of works (in the book of life) that reflect your faith in order to be saved, will ultimately cause believers to ask this question - "have I DONE enough to be saved?" - thus putting the focus and dependence on one's own merit and accomplishments for one's salvation rather than on the completed work of Jesus that has been credited to you as a free gift, that you received by faith. It is ultimately a works-based gospel. This would eliminate any assurance of salvation, which the Bible clearly teaches we can have (1 John 5:13). And it is a contrary (false) gospel to the one the apostle Paul preached.

It is really sad how some believe that the more important issue is not the eternal danger this view presents, but rather the focus should squarely be on the personality flaws they perceive in another individual. Priorities are really being disorted.
