There is certainly a lot of unwarranted outrage over ads like this. Personally it's a little disgusting, it bewilders me, and I will probably avoid Calvin Klein products from now on, but some of you take it far beyond that. I also think this woman mutilated her body, but I can't be certain that he/she/they isn't happy. This is adults exercising freedoms. Not an opportunity to trash people.

It is easy for disgust to turn into hate, and that leads to problems. It sort of justifies the trans lifestyle in these people's minds. In some weird way. I think it's good to talk of the harm mutilating one's body can bring, but we can do that while still respecting these human beings. Someone trying to change genders doesn't need hate, they need help.
We don't have any disagreement on the bolded. The problem is that the new era of help is counter to science and standards of mental health. It's become a social experiment not tied to medical or biological reality. Gender dysphoria is similar to dissociative disorders, and was treated through similar methods until the bizarre social experiment turn that removed it as a mental illness. Now the pathology is to "affirm" the delusion in irreparable ways that include chemical and physical alteration of the human body. Sex change procedures used to be extremely rare for adult men and women.

As a parallel, Dissociative Identity Disorder (multiple personality) isn't treated by "affirming" the alternate identities, but is treated through psychotherapy, medication, and coping mechanisms that help minimize the disruptive aspects of the mental illness. That's how it was done before with gender dysphoria until we worried more about stigma than science, and more frightening is going away from a mental disorder to a "self realized" lifestyle choice with long term mental and physical repercussions.

We get that these things are not offensive to you. They are offensive to a large portion of Americans.
Then they are bigots you know like southern brothers and sisters who were offended by racially mixed married couples, mixed race children, and gay couples.
How do you feel about Paul? Was Christ a bigot when he spoke out about marital purity? Go get a refund for your theology degree.

Why?

The average consumer just wants to buy stuff that fits their needs. Food, clothes, sports equipment, etc.

When they buy said objects the average person doesn't want an agenda, which has basically become religion to some people, pushed down their throats. They just want the product.

Another, simplier way to look at it.

Why would a real biological woman want to see a hairy obese man, modeling her clothing choices.

Why would the average good ole boy bud drinker, want to see a flamboyant out of control, pretend woman man, on their beer container. They just want a drink.

Why would a real woman, walking into a supposed safe locker room, be subject to a biological man, dangling his privates in front of her in the shower, pretending to be a woman, thus he can compete as a woman.

Why has such insanity, become so accomodated, when the said person actually needs help, as we can see with the out of control suicide rate of those affected by it.

It should concern me because, at a bare minimum, (1) children are being manipulated into mutilation and (2) women are being denied the opportunity to compete fairly in sports. I suppose if you don't care about the welfare of women and children, it shouldn't concern you.

Problem is, offering "help" is not enough. We must affirm, or we are -phobes. We must affirm, or we are hating/attacking/destroying trans people.

and the irony of it all......ostensibly, "trans people" are born that way, it's what they are. Yet, the surgical interventions are all done in the name of mental health, to solve a mental problem...that we must change what they are to conform with what they are.

We are watching the internal contradictions of an irritable and irrational ideology crash into one another. Yet, if we point that out, we are engaging in hate.

Ah yes, the usual suspects triggered by these types of posts...

Calm down, little guy. It's called capitalism.
no bruh, just a simple question. But as usual, you can't answer the question and resort to name calling like your deal leader.

There are lots of ways pushing social agendas affect people, especially campaigns aimed at children. That's pretty elementary.
Bud light and calvin klein are aimed at kids? Huh.
I don't think I said or suggested that. Target's campaign certainly was aimed at children. Perhaps you were unaware of that.

As a purported "conservative," it's quite odd you have a problem with conservatives speaking out against liberal social agendas.
Never said i had a problem with conservatives speaking out. You must have missed that and created your own argument as you consistently do.

I was just asking how this really affects people's lives. Not meant with any ill intent, just an honest question.

Are people limited to only commenting about matters directly affecting them? Presumably that rule only applies to other people and not to you?
Yes, if it attacks human for their gender identity. T under lying issue is for you, posters, here see it as abnormal.
Reality check. God made two genders. T
So? I get that there are two ganders but God said nothing about how we see ourselves sexually or gender identity. our gender it, nether did Jesus. Gender identity is different for people. Why should that concern you?
You are wrong. There are much more than two ganders. I have not seen the latest bird census data.

There are just two genders.

Ganders good catch : ) Sorry my man.
Yes, there are two genders but gender identity is fluid.

You should google "Chole Cole". Her life is ruined thanks to "gender-affirming" caregivers.

Is racial identity fluid? Is age identity fluid?

Companies advertise to (potential) customers. Insulting your customers is not a smart move.

Showing men in beards as the equivalent of biological females is pretty stupid.
Hmm.....All the women I know who wear bras also have beards.

Saying people who have a mental illness need help is "bigotry pure and simple" is one of your more ridiculous takes on these boards. And given the number of ridiculous and illogical takes you consistently make on this board, that is saying something .

The idea that gender is malleable and fluid is one of the biggest unscientific and dangerous lies propagated by your side of the aisle, and it's confused a lot of children.
