It is abhorrent that Trumpy Bear (admitted) the draft dodger resended Milley's security detail when there are current threats on his life from Iran. What a child. Gen. Milley faithfully served his country for 40yrs and that punk ass Trump pulled this as a vendetta. That is NOT what we do in this country. Milley is 100 times the man that Trump is. Same goes for Pompeo and Bolton. You just don't pull security for former govt officials with death threats against them. Disgusting.

any govt employee that committed treason would be tried and put in jail, brah. Unsubstantiated to the max. Not a fan of Bolton and never have been, but he is a former administration official who has a bounty on his head. No clue how you could even attempt to defend taking away their security detail, even you and your 1 track mind.

Milley did not commit treason, there were 15 people in the call and the SecDef knew. Milley didn't do those calls in a vacuum. It was one of several calls that day to allies, Russia and China. I would bet they are more frequent than people realize. On the one hand, you guys say he is a political ******* General with no backbone, than in the other he is committing documentable treason on his own? The guy is a political animal, I guarantee he has his ass covered before making those calls.

Rather than this he said/she said ***** Have a trial. Depose everyone involved and let's see what is said under oath prosecutable under law.

His day in court is coming. Even if cleared it sends a message to maintain chain of command and may help solidify civilian control of the military. I remember him saying he was clearing the president's orders with Nancy Pelosi or something crazy like that. Now we will get to find out what was going on.

I have mixed feelings on pulling the security detail. That sounds vindictive. But I am on board pulling the security clearance. If he is compromised politically or by a foreign influence it will limit the damage he can do.

If Milley is worried for his safety then maybe he should go to China and ask them to protect him or we could put him in Gitmo bc its very safe. Pompeo and Bolton have killed plenty of people so whatever happens to them they deserve.

Who all do we provide security for anyway?

RFK couldn't get any as a third-party candidate (who may have essentially had a swing vote). Trump had the equivalent of what I could dig up looking through the guys from my HS class who don't have enough to do.

But a former cabinet member still needs/has round the clock protection? We doing this for all former cabinet members? For how long?

I don't have any major issue with it. Once you are that political, any nut job might try to take your life. It is just life in America. That the threat is Iranian makes me even less worried. We watch those guys pretty close.

It does seem vindictive, but so does trying to shut down the entire federal government. A small grievance at best. Not a huge one.

[Women In The Military: Real-Life Stories

I was texting the other day with a friend who is an active-duty US military officer, about the Trumpian anti-woke reforms. Since Trump took office, I've heard from both active-duty and recently retired military friends, telling me that the DEI problems are much worse than people realize. Not everybody will allow me to share their stories, but this one officer did, on the condition that I don't identify him.
Quote:

In 2015 I had the unique opportunity to work with a group of Green Berets for summer training. The ODA team would teach us basic infantry tasks and tactics, and then we would teach a larger group of underclassmen and be graded on how well we performed.
These guys had no idea there were going to be women in the training. With women added it affected the realism and difficulty that they wanted us to have. When it first came up you could hear a pin drop. They didn't believe it.
The team sergeant pulled a few of us off to the side and gave us a small talk. It went something along the lines of "we will adjust the training to accommodate everyone because we have no choice, but I want you ALL to remember what you see here (in terms of female performance), the odds are at least one of you will be a General officer, and I want you to remember what you see so that you can stop it before it ruins our military"
I remember what I saw, and it cemented my view on the subject. I won't forget that man's words.
2017 was the first year that females were allowed to branch combat arms at West Point. The problem was not enough females wanted to branch combat arms to meet the new quotas. So the army took some of the top athletically performing females and forced some of them to branch combat arms against their will.
General Mark Milley was so excited to have females in combat arms that he had a dinner with the all twelve of them. Combat Arms Females used to be restricted to just two bases. (because they were required to have a female in their chain of command, aka not enough females). One of the girls complains to General Milley that she wanted to be stationed in Italy (a highly competitive assignment with 1-3 slots per class) first, but wasn't afforded the choice because it was not one of the two.
General Milley then proceeds to create a position in Italy just for her, having to restructure God knows what to make it happen. This was my first observation of DEI trumping merit. Traditionally Italy is almost impossible to get unless you are top ranked in the class (top 10%) which is no easy task to pull off for four years and requires intense dedication, perfect grades, insane athleticism, and high marks for leadership.
And then, poof, you are a girl, so you get this. It wasn't earned. And who knows what pain was caused to the active duty unit they tailored just for her.
Another DEI joke is if you go to the National Infantry Museum at Fort Benning, which is a great collection, in the exhibits they have a 1 to 1 scale replica of the first woman that graduated Ranger School. Its bizarre to me. This woman is still alive. She was paraded around non-stop for years as the ultimate army DEI example, finally conquering the evil and biased Ranger School. So she gets a statue.
I know when they integrated females into Ranger School it was a colossal upheaval for the school. (This is all second hand knowledge) They sunk tons of taxpayer money into changing bathrooms into female ones. They had shadow teams of senior female officers and enlisted who went on the graded patrols to make sure that females were not being treated unfairly. Instructors were told that if you fail a female, you better have a good reason (basically, don't fail them). A Ranger instructor couldn't move without a General officer knowing about it. I heard stories of women prepping to come to Ranger School being afforded crazy privileges by the Army, such as nutritionists and personal trainers.
And what did we get? From 2017-2022 we got 100 female Ranger tabs, so 25 a year. For comparison, around 1200 men graduate the course every year.
Ranger School is always under scrutiny because it has a high fail rate. The Army is always talking about how do we make more Rangers, because we need them. For the last few years, we have focused on getting more females into the course than people who can actually pass. DEI makes us focus on the statistically least likely to succeed and also least interested group of people, when the same effort into men would yield exponentially more. When I worked there we would get calls non-stop all year long from generals and big army IG asking the same questions: Why are so many females failing? Why can't we get more black Rangers? Is the swim test racist? How many females are left in the course? How many females have graduated total?
At seemingly random intervals the media would just pick some meaningless fact to just to say another female graduated. "This is a historic moment because this is the first female to graduate Ranger School from Pacific Northwest University," or, "Wow #76 just graduated which is an even number, not an odd one like last time". So much organizational time and energy were eaten up producing these reports rather than spent on actually improving the school.
We also dealt with females who claimed they were treated unfairly when they would fail because of their gender. It got to the point where some young females would basically tell the senior RIs and commander "If you drop me I'm going to complain and you'll be forced to take me back". Basically, flexing their privileged status in order to artificially remain in the course. I never knew the outcomes of such events, but we all heard about them.
I welcome you to share your stories of DEI in the military, either positive or negative, in the comments, or by writing to me at roddreher at substack dot com. If you send me stories by e-mail, I will not identify you unless you ask me to.] -Rod Dreher

You are insufferable. Here, I'll do the work for you because you seem to be lazy. As you know Biden preemptively pardoned him.

"But Trump might be hard-pressed to stick Milley with any criminal charges, as the retired general was given a preemptive pardon issued by former President Biden on Jan. 20, his last day in office."

So we will never know about criminal liability for the Jan 6 set up

But

Pete Hegseth cutting Mark Milley's security detail, eyes stripping him of star

"The Trump administration is also aiming to demote Milley in retirement. Hegseth is expected to direct the Pentagon's new acting Inspector General to conduct a review board to see if enough evidence exists for the four-star general to be stripped of a star based on his actions to "undermine the chain of command" during President Trump's first term, multiple senior administration officials told Fox News, which first reported on the plan."

His day in court will be when board meets. No date has been set, but it will come. If it is open we will find out how much (if any) he was insubordinate/treasonous and he will get to defend himself. I'm sure the media will cover it. If he keeps all his stars, I guess he won.

Disgusting.

Milley committed treason.

Bolton is a war monger .

They are fortunate this punishment is all they have to deal with.

Please tell us when his court date is.
when is that court date, 33?
You can search the internet as well as I can.
hum. I can't seem to find a court date. So, when you say his day in court is coming, it was not based in fact, but wishful thinking. So, the question remains....is G Milley scheduled for his day in court as you said? Simple yes or no would suffice.

The general received a pardon from Biden.

A preemptive pardon of which needs to be evaluated by the Supreme Court.

Of course many politicians on both side of the aisle , might not wish for such pardons to disappear.

I don't like preemptive pardons. I don't like the Jan 6 pardons either. The entire pardon system need to be reevaluated and changed.

They may not want to have a hearing. Watch for Hegseth to say he can do it without a hearing. A hearing gives both sides the opportunity to speak. That may not be fun.

This is exactly why when I say Watergate was worse than the J6 and other stuff, I don't care if it is Fed, State, or Vatican it needs to be vetted with both sides giving sworn testimony. Those outcomes have more credibility than news stories or hearsay.
