Moses led the Israelites to the Holy Land. They had a presence there for more or less 2000 years. Around 100 AD at the time of the second Jewish Revolt, the Roman empire basically extinguisihed the Jewish presence in the Holy Land. 500,000 dead, laws against Jews going to Jerusalem or Judea, and the entire region renamed Syria Palestina. At the time of the 1878 Ottoman Census of Jerusalem and Judea it was recorded that Jews constituted only 3.2% of the population. The majority were Muslims, followed by Christians.

So about 2000 years of a Jewish Kingdom there, and roughly the same amount of time without any significant Jewish presence. Then there is the separate question of if the majority population of modern Israel constitutes the same people group that followed Moses out of Egypt which is debatable.

That's a lot of water under that particular bridge and Christians would do well not to meddle in that conflict, Lindsey (Hal or Graham) and Scofield notwithstanding.

Wrong. Over half of Israeli Jews descend from the Arab nations, Iran, and Africa. Jews in total are only 73% of Israel's population. Arabs are around 23% of Israel's population. Hundreds of thousands more work there.

Quite the opposite, Palestine, Arab countries, and Iran have virtually no Jews. That is mostly because they were forced out.

Palestinians themselves can from all over the Arab world and even beyond.

Seems about right…

[from a 2019 study, in a sample meant to be representative of the Israeli Jewish population, about 44.9% percent of Israel's Jewish population were categorized as Mizrahi (defined as having grandparents born in North Africa or Asia), 31.8% were categorized as Ashkenazi (defined as having grandparents born in Europe, the Americas), 12.4% as "Soviet" (defined as having progenitors who came from the ex-USSR in 1989 or later), about 3% as Beta Israel.

Chomsky is wrong on almost every controversial topic.
If this is your source of info, it explains why you are so terribly wrong in this topic.

Chomsky is a fervent communist who simply couldn't allow himself to believe the evidence of communist atrocities. This has always been his MO. He makes statements based upon his Marxist values, in spite of evidence to the contrary. He is a fully unreliable source of information.

Hamas threatening to execute hostages which would only escalate Israel's decimation on Gaza.

Hamas has a proven track record of making incredibility dumb and evil decisions that bring the full might of the Israeli military machine down on the Palestinian population.

The spokesman for Hamas's military wing, Abu Obeida, has threatened to execute a civilian hostage every time an airstrike hits "Gazans in their homes without warning." Hamas is believed to be holding about 150 Israelis hostage.

Note the use of the word "regrettably"
"From this moment on, we announce that every targeting of our people who are safe in their houses, without prior warning, we will regrettably meet with the execution of one of the enemy's civilian hostages that we have," Abu Obaida said in a message broadcast on Al Jazeera.
Ane every execution of a civilian will be met by Israel with 50 missiles into Gaza....hows that gonna turn out ?

Hamas has been reading the ISIS play book.

Hope Israel eradicates these animals.
Didn't turn out well for ISIS. Worst things these groups can do is think they are grown up militaries. They have no idea. Being an expert on guerilla hit and run is a much different world than when they decide to get serious a break out real mech infantry and air power.
I imagine looking at the wrong end of a Merkava is not real fun.
Not sure if the Merkava's will be handy in Gaza, can control crossings and intersections, but armor in urban densities like that will be tough. If anyone knows how to use them for an advantage, it is the IDF.

I think this will give Israel to take Gaza and consolidate more into Israel. It will be in or out, but under more Israeli control.
There are 2 million people in Gaza Strip. Where do they go? None of the other Arab countries want them. You can't (shouldn't) kill all of them.
Think on that part in bold for a while. (it is an indirect way to keep the pressure on Israel....saddle Israel with a defacto refugee problem).

"Where do they go" has an easy answer: Look at the demographics of Jordan.

Why would Jordan take them? Wouldn't that give Hamas a bigger base from which to attack?

A short history: TheIsraeli-Palestinian conflictdates back to the end of the nineteenth century. In 1947, the United Nations adoptedResolution 181, known as the Partition Plan, which sought to divide the British Mandate of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states. On May 14, 1948, the State of Israel was created, sparking the first Arab-Israeli War. The war ended in 1949 with Israel's victory, but 750,000 Palestinians were displaced, and the territory was divided into 3 parts: the State of Israel, the West Bank (of the Jordan River), and the Gaza Strip.
https://www.cfr.org/global-conflict-tracker/conflict/israeli-palestinian-conflict

The whole area used to be "Palestine." The Arabs there are all the same people. The division between Jews and Palestinians has already happened. What we now know as Israel is for the Jews. What we now know as Jordan is the Palestinian state. The West bank was lost by Jordan to Israel in war. Jordan renounced its claim. Israel is settling it and Jews have an effective demographic parity. Gaza is an outlying enclave. Move the 2m Gazans over to Jordan. Problem solved.

Israel appears to be making Gaza unliveable. Destroying all structures, eliminating water & power hookups. Gazans are going to have to be come refugees somewhere...... If they don't want to join their fellow Palestinians in Jordan (as a couple million already have over the years), then ship them off to asylum on one of the Indonesian islands. Tropical paradise in an islamic country. Everybody's problem is solved. They can settle there, or they can return to the existing Palestinian state - Palestine.

Prediction: The international community is going to allow the settlement process to continue in the WB, because Israel is not defensible without controlling the WB. Palestinians there can accept Israeli citizenship (as have 2m already), or they can move to live with fellow Palestinians in Jordan. That much is obvious. Gaza...we will have to wait & see if Israel is going to do what I mentioned above....make it unliveable to force out everyone.

Jordan is the Palestinian state. Has a Hashemite King, but otherwise, it's Palestine.

Thanks for giving us an example of the pathological thinking of the self-styled moderate neverTrumper (a contradiction in terms of there ever was one) = harping on a contrived controversy involving a screeching troll that very few people have ever heard about rather than dealing with real current problems, like the broad support enjoyed in this country for a terror group that just slaughtered over a thousand innocents in the cradle of Judeo-Christian culture. Meantime, some Republicans have no problem distancing themselves from Fuentes, the Adolph Hitler admirer.. You could learn a thing or 2 from them.

Dan Patrick says PAC leader's meeting with white supremacist was a "blunder," but will keep group's $3 million contribution
Patrick said Wednesday that he spoke to Dunn, who "told me unequivocally that it was a serious blunder" for Stickland to meet with Fuentes, and assured him that the political action committee would have no "future contact" with the well-known white supremacist and Adolf Hitler admirer.
Dunn "stated emphatically that everyone at the PAC understands that mistakes were made and are being corrected," Patrick said. "I accept Mr. Dunn at his word. I know him to be a man of integrity and an avid and staunch supporter of Israel."
Fuentes has frequently praised Hitler and questioned if the Holocaust happened. He has called for "holy war" against Jews, said he wants the United States under authoritarian, "Catholic Taliban rule" and fantasized about marrying a 16-year-old when he is older because that's "right when the milk is good." He has said that he would beat a "disrespectful" woman so hard that she would collapse like a building on Sept. 11, 2001. And he has routinely pushed conspiracy theories that claim there is an intentional, Jewish-driven effort to replace white people through immigration, interracial marriage and the LGBTQ+ community.
"All I want is revenge against my enemies and a total Aryan victory," Fuentes said last year.

While I would agree that Phelan has all the attributes of a beach ball, I certainly did not intend to be critical of Trump here. Rather of his critics, who are making a manifestly silly point. Hizballah is most assuredly a very capable organization. Before 9/11, they were at the top of the "most Americans killed" list. I spent the first few years of my career collecting against that target. One of my sources had big divots on his torso from healed-over Hizballah bullet holes. He was Shia, but tried to do his job (Lebanese govt). Paid a big price for it.. Hizballah is a very smart, serious, capable organization. Nothing wrong with taking an adversary seriously, which Trump opponents never seem to do and for that reason launch on attacks that usually do more damage to themselves than to Trump (as is the case in this particular instance.)

I can't think of a reason to meet with a nutjob like Fuentes either. And I haven't. Nor have I ever had anything to do with Stickland or that PAC. So I have nothing to denounce, other than your incessant efforts to tie me to all that nonsense, which reflects far more poorly on you than anything I have said or done here = the same kind of muckraking the aforementioned people do.

I'm still waiting for you to go after the terrorists and their supporters here in this country, instead of making a round mouth for Phelan's divisive nonsense. It's almost like he's desperate to distract from his own difficulties. Notice, I'm not demanding you to DO anything. Just observing what you actually are doing and making appropriate conclusions. It's quite amusing to see a so-called moderate engaging in the same kind ****-stirring he criticizes those to the right him of doing. That's the central irony of the partisan moderate - they don't believe in anything terribly strongly except that they don't like people who do and will do anything to stop them, to include burning down the house, as Phelan has tried to do TWICE this year.

So, takeaway from this post is:

1) To clarify, you did NOT intend to be critical of Trump but instead the messenger who reported what Trump said. Gotcha. So you record of never-having criticized Trump remains intact.

2) The messenger is "profoundly stupid" for repeating Trump's words; and

3) You are going to ignore what Trump said about Israel after its 9/11, with women and children slaughtered, and merely focus on his comments about Hizballah.

Of course. Classic, whiterock.
