If anyone knows how to conduct urban warfare, it is the Israelis. The Brits a close second with all the lessons they learned in Northern Ireland. The Israeli's know what they are doing. It is still going to be a messy, expensive affair. Not envying them.
Agree on Israel, but disagree on the Brits.

America has had much more recent urban warfare experience in Fallujah and other parts of Iraq, compared with the Northern Ireland warfare of the 1980s. You gotta realize just how old those veterans of the Northern Ireland campaigns are today. It's been around 40 years since the last door was kicked-in in Belfast. Sadly, those lessons learned are probably gone.

But back to your main point... yes, the Israelis are probably the most experienced at urban warfare. They have had to go door-to-door in the West Bank and Gaza before. As we learned in Iraq,... it is a high casualty type of warfare.

ah... that makes sense.

And I will agree that there are other similarities. Small geographical region vs. much larger & more powerful one. Ideological, ethnic and religious based conflicts. Use of terrorism. Urban warfare.

It is a valid comparison between North Ireland and Palestine.

I think the only real difference is that the IRA rarely used their own children as human shields. I also don't recall the IRA intentionally targeting babies.

I agree with the Politicians and the media. Hard to not have the attorneys, there is a reason JAG Corps has been in existence since 1775.

JAG, as a rule, aren't the attorneys anyone cares about. Though their role is to enforce the rule of law when it has been broken…not to craft rules of engagement. They are rule enforcement not rule creation, imo.

Americans no longer have the stomach or balls to wage real war. I'm actually not sure anyone in the West does. Hell, among our allies im not sure anyone does.

On the whole, the world has become a very soft place…probably for a better. However, it means the places that aren't soft have a decided advantage in that they simply don't care what anyone thinks. Hamas does not care what the West thinks of them killing babies. They don't have to fight a war in the battlefield AND Twitter which frees them to be brutal. They just don't care about "hearts and minds" because they have [likely accurately] decided that the West won't do anything.

I don't need a lecture from the person making my coffee, I just need a cup of coffee.

Starbucks condemns acts of terror, strongly disagrees with statements made by Workers United
Quote:

To be clear: We unequivocally condemn these acts of terrorism, hate and violence, and disagree with the statements and views expressed by Workers United and its members. Workers United's words and actions belong to them, and them alone.

Yet another reason to NEVER buy from Starbucks.

I gave up on that over priced crap a few years back.... never regretted it.

Bought my own espresso machine. Already payed for itself a few times over. Coffee is WAY better, and I'm not supporting idiots who want to destroy America.
But can you poop into your espresso machine on a road trip?

Charleston Coffee Roasters makes a good coffee Kiawah blend is my favorite. Don't need no stinking Starbucks
As soon as I walk in I'll find out the CEO funded a Cambodian genocide . I understand cancel culture makes you feel better but I find it annoying

Go to Starbucks everyday, buy stock, join their picket line. Embrace not cancelling... I will continue to drinky Charleston Coffee Roasters.

Damn, You are so enlightened and conservative! Is that what your looking for? The last true conservative, i.e. Ronald Reagan? You looking for a little affirmation? Your good enough, your conservative enough, and darn people like you. Feel better?
You drinky whatever you want to drinky. This is America

That is what I said. You are losing it dude. Need to develop your own ideas and not try to be someone else. There was only one Reagan. Br who you are, it is good enough if you are genuine.
