That was probably it. I too hope that they have rescued more. Hopefully they will get them all. The Israelis take that seriously. Remember Entebbe in the 1970s. Netanyahu's brother was one of the heroes in that one and I think the only casualty.

You really are a historian.

Detroit already has a head start on one. That's how we got the camel jockey Squad member Tlaib.

Lots and lots of Iraqis in Detroit. Some excellent food.

And in 2023 should we still be using terms like "camel jockey"?

Sharif doesn't like it.
Rock the Casbah

The King called up his jet fighters
He said you better earn your pay
Drop your bombs between the Minarets
Down the Casbah way
As soon as the Sharif was chauffeured outta there
The jet pilots tuned to the cockpit radio blare
As soon as the Sharif was outta their hair
The jet pilots wailed
"we are working on a Clampdown"! I can alway get behind the Clash! Top 3 for me.

Not really. She's an anti semite, by definition a racist, and an extremely unpleasant person who doesn't see the irony in all the things she enjoys here should couldn't there…but the racial epithets make you no better than her [even though I'm on your side].

Your both being racists she's just being more overt about it.

I didn't know that raghead was referring to a specific person.... who is this "she" that you are talking about?

I thought raghead was just a derogatory slang for muslim.

The conversation you replied to was about Rashida Tlaib. She is neither a camel jockey nor a raghead.

She's an awful human being for her views. Calling her racial slurs detracts from how awful she is because it makes the person talking about her look just as awful.

The State department is asking US citizens to pay for their flight out of Israel.
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/ea/situation-in-israel-2023.html

Quote:

Before boarding the ship, you will be asked to sign a promissory note (agreement to repay the U.S. government) for the cost

Is Florida picking up the tab for Florida residents on Air DeSantis?

Seems unfair that you can illegally enter the US as an illegal and get thousands of welfare dollars but a citizen caught in a war zone has to buy their way home.

Oh, i see what you are talking about now.

Yeah... I wouldn't call her a camel jockey... no way she is smart enough to figure out how to ride a camel.

And she doesn't actually wear a hijab, so raghead isn't appropriate either.

So I'll just stick with what I normally call her... a stupid pshcho *****. That is probably less offensive, and far more accurate.

First of all, he went in to quite a bit of detail explaining that Iran provides the primary financial support for Hamas and Hezbollah and that no more evidence on that is needed. All parties have provided substantial evidence and testimony that is true. I 100% agree with that. So Graham's answer was ultimately affirmative. However, the tweet and the quote "Yeah" is completely misleading. He was not being glib, as that poster is trying to show. I don't know if the tweeter is stupid, or trying to be intellectually dishonest, but the "yeah" was clearly a filler word, acknowledging the question, while he was gathering his thought to give the full answer.

All par for the course with CNN & other Leftist propaganda outlets but Graham is wrong. He seems to think the solution to every foreign policy issue is for the U.S. to bomb somebody into the Stone Age and invade. That's insanity and one reason so much of the world hates us.
FIFY. Bombing them into the stone age will usually suffice.

Not if your goal is to defeat the enemy. Compare the outcomes of WWI & WWII. Which Germany became our ally?
The one we bombed into the stone age.

To change mindset, you have to thoroughly and utterly defeat your enemy....crush their homes, cities, churches, etc...... That is hard work. Really hard work. And for that reason rarely done.

Not even close.

Carriers are there to send a loud signal to Iran, Syria and even Turkey not to send air strikes against Israel

But as every day passes it is more and more unlikely that Israel invades Gaza.

The pressure on Israel to back down grows.

I think they will back down. Their military is not the dominate force it was 20 years ago.

It's a bitter pill to swallow for sure. Hamas is fundamentally going to get away with the slaughter of hundreds of Israeli civilians. And will only grow in strength as a result.

But Israel simply doesn't have the strength to win a regional war alone.

And they now realize it.

Well, maybe. What does "occupy" mean? Does it mean "enter at all" or does it mean "enter and stay?"

Strategic ambiguity is a good thing. Appearing to be a restraining factor on Israel allays concerns of allies in the Arab world, who beyond the realm of actual policy are concerned about public reaction in their respective countries (as they will have to deal with it). It also makes it harder for Iran to escalate the situation. And it might help Israel think harder about the implications of its choices. Mostly though, after having shown up to the knife fight with nuclear weapons, we do need to make some effort to appear to be a somewhat objective player.

And it does all of that while not actually preventing Israel from doing what Israel needs to do.

Israel has often pushed the envelope with the USA, and can be expected to do so this time in particular. We are not going to abandon Israel no matter what, and everybody knows that. So this is merely pre-positioning for future positioning for diplomatic appearances....to make it easier to pick up the pieces after it's all over.

He is right. The government's number one priority is to protect its citizens. If it cannot do that, then the government loses legitimacy. Drone technology, missile technology, and explosives technology is only going to improve for HAMAS and put more Israeli lives and territory at risk unless HAMAS is completely removed from the Gaza strip.

Calling someone a racial epithet is definitely not helpful, it makes it near impossible to hear anything else after that for most, and it is a signal that the person using them *may* be a bigot, OR it may be harmless joke from someone who doesn't know how to read the room in the 21st century.

But in this day and age, where you can get canceled, lose a job, or get the **** beat out of you just for mentioning the letter that follows m, then yeah, best to avoid that with all people groups. Especially when ragheads have been known to murder people for much less than being called a raghead.

It is ludicrous that we live in an age where people no longer believe sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Instead, we live in a world now where if you say a word someone doesn't like, the mob thinks they are justified in breaking your bones.

We live in a clown world where someone thinks calling someone a racial epithet is the moral equivalent of advocating genocide, but here we are.
