Harris will get an initial bump for two reasons:

Democrats will be relieved Biden is not leading this trainwreck anymore, and there will be initial curiosity from Independents, but once her record on the issues comes out she will lose them, largely because she won't be able to defend the Democrat platform any better than Biden did.
