Update: FEMA worker that gave the order fired. And she goes on record saying that she was told by her superiors. Havent actually heard the audio on it, but this means it was a trickle down order. Gonna really blow FEMA apart

Washington told DailyMail.com she is seeking an attorney and is 'at risk' as a result of the backlash she's received. 'I have information that proves FEMA is lying,' she said.

In a podcast appearance last night, she went further claiming more FEMA employees are guilty of the same bias, but that she is the only one being hung out to dry.

The FEMA boss who was fired after ordering volunteers not to approach homes displaying Trump signs in Florida after Hurricane Milton has insisted her edict 'was not isolated' and also happened in North Carolina.

Speaking out for the first time since she was fired, Marn'i Washington accused the Federal Emergency Management Agency of 'lying' about the scandal, and making her the scapegoat of a wider practice.

Of course

No one believes she went out and said "Don't help Trump voters" on her own

She got that stuff from somewhere in the chain of command above her.

And now they are cutting her lose to take the fall for a policy that obviously came down from on higher up

Judging from this lady's comments, FEMA higher ups are going to claim that those mean trump supporters threatened FEMA workers and so they made a blanket policy to not endanger their employees by helping people that looked scary (even thought that is their job). That may have worked with the Biden administration but is not going to work with the incoming administration.

It's a lame excuse on the surface and is probably a lie at its core.

Dems would be better served to have their investigation and determination now rather than waiting until Trump's team is in place.

Doing it now, they could probably get away with some terminations, fines and short-term sentences that Biden could pardon. Waiting till Trump is in place is going to add up to some serious time, fines and terminations with nobody to pardon them.

The only way dems could benefit with a delay would be if they could use it to blame the disfunction on Trumps cuts and firings. They would need a major emergency to occur in the midst of the hearings for that.

It's not nothing! I'm just saying we don't need an ideological purge of the whole agency like some are advocating.
do you think it's worth investigating whether or not this was a one time occurrence and following the evidence wherever it leads?
Sure. All I'm saying is we don't need a political purge.

Sam has left the conversation

Or, so it seems.

Trump needs to put Vance on something big. How about taking FEMA down to the studs, moving it to a CENTRAL location in the US, like Texas, and restructuring it with folks that could be from both sides of the aisle, not in a district that votes 95% for the left.

The fired employee says it was actually widespread. She says they encountered a lot of conflict at houses with Trump signs, and basically their policy is avoidance. Says it is not just the 1 team, that it is everywhere.

While I can believe any government employee will encounter a lot of *******s at houses with Trump signs (not all, just many) it should not be a thing that they would skip them when providing aid. Hope they get to the bottom of this.

It isn't a conspiracy. They encountered a lot of conflict at homes with Trump signs, so they applied their policy of avoidance to get help to as many people as fast as possible.

Had Trump supporters not been such *******s, it wouldn't have happened, but also the federal government has a responsibility even to *******s, and their policy needs to reflect that. Skipping homes with political signs is a clear violation of many rights.

FEMA will have to accept that they might indeed encounter conflict with one political party more than the other, and that it might slow their aid down. They will just have to live with that.

No it does not

But we can tell you love to stereotype according to your own bias and bigotry

I think a poor area in NC or a poor urban area in New Orleans are going to both have a lot of hurt and stressed out people in a massive disaster like this.

Just because one group might vote Red and the other Blue does not tell us much about how they would react to a Federal Employee or that if they did react in a less than polite manner that politics has anything to do with it.

Doesn't that debunk your whole narrative? Democrats the party of big government, maga Repubs the party of blowing the whole thing up?

Look, people on both sides are extremely emotional right now. You all need some time to settle down. I post on another forum that is largely a progressive echo chamber, and their posting is similar to yours, just inverse politics. No point in pretending we can have a rational discussion right now.

It seems more than believable that MAGAs would want conflict with federal employees on their doorstep. Does it not to you?

No it does not

But we can tell you love to stereotype according to your own bias and bigotry

I think a poor area in NC or a poor urban area in New Orleans are going to both have a lot of hurt and stressed out people in a massive disaster like this.

Just because one group might vote Red and the other Blue does not tell us much about how they would react to a Federal Employee or that if they did react in a less than polite manner that politics has anything to do with it.
maga Repubs the party of blowing the whole thing up?

Look, people on both sides are extremely emotional right now. You all need some time to settle down. I post on another forum that is largely a progressive echo chamber, and their posting is similar to yours, just inverse politics. No point in pretending we can have a rational discussion right now.

You continue to invent narratives in your head...that is part of the problem

I have never said "blow it all up" and neither has the Republican party

But for some reason you have a lot of hate in your heart for MAGA types.

So much so that you will believe any unsubstantiated rumor about NC rural people who like Trump

Not only do you not spend the time to get the facts about a certain situation....you let your imagination and your bigotry run wild.

So much so that you call these people "*******s" without even knowing them.
