I've seen reports that the identity that was posted was false. To my knowledge, authorities still have not released the identity of the victim. If she was homeless, it's probably because they are having trouble finding next of kin to notify.

There is a transit cop that wanders by. I actually don't know that there is anything he could do but I would have liked to see him at least pretend like he was running to get an extinguisher or…well, anything.

If you didn't think it was a real person (which would have been reasonable) you still have a fire.

Thank God the victim survived. Too bad this happened in NYC. There is no guarantee the perp will be punished. The authorities there prefer to prosecute the innocent and heroes than criminals.
