It is disturbing that so many posters are calling for all Trump's picks to be rammed through, the more retribution the better, and the more damage to the department the better. Wanting Senators to annoint them all or recess. Basically wanting the government to step aside and ket Trump do what he wants.
I'd like to just blame poor educations. Maybe these people have no clue?
The regime is no longer concerned with legitimacy. Raw power is all they need, they had it, they used it.
It didn't have to be this way. In 2016 he won and didn't use power. Evil doers had no need to fear retribution. The strong do as they will, the weak suffer what they must.
There can't be unity or forgiveness when one side wanted to destroy their opposition and got stopped. They'll do it again. Must be retribution and punishment.
Retribution is justice. It's exposing corruption and bringing the down the hammer. Why are you against that?
It can't be at the cost of the foundations of our Nation. You don't get justice by being unjust and putting aside the processes of our government.
If so, you are no different than the Dems, ANTIFA and others, just different ideology.
Again you are freaking out in a manner disproportionate to the issue at hand
(and I notice how you freak out far more about Trump and the Right than you ever did about Obama/Biden and the Left)
The "foundations of our Nation" are not at stake.
This is about the Constitutionally elected Executive Branch being able to get the people it wants into roles that are under the purview of the Executive Branch.....against a often obstructionist/do nothing Congress.
That is a classic separation of powers issue and a classic low stakes struggle that has been going on in the government since the time of Washington
[Presidents since George Washington have made recess appointments. Washington appointed South Carolina judge John Rutledge as Chief Justice of the United States during a congressional recess in 1795.]
Once again, you are giving Donald a pass because you like him.
This is NOT a recess appointment.
But it is a recess appointment....using a novel approach to get there....one that you don't like and are freaking out about.
One that has not even happened yet I might add.
So again read my post above...the one you obviously did not read.
[Separation of Powers in action! The Constitution in action!
Congress tries to stonewall the Executive and keep it from picking who it wants. The Executive then tries out a novel approach to get its roles filled. The Supreme Court weighs in and tells us if its Constitutional.
System working as intended.
Everyone is happy!
(*other than the fake conservatives....)]
What makes you so sure Trump will be happy? How do you know he won't appoint them anyway and dare the Court to do something about it?
Its always "what ifs" with you guys....
Lets cross that bridge when or if we come to it.
We already had two Presidents in American history who ignored the Supreme Court at will and somehow we survived even then.
And most of you boys think Lincoln and FDR are American heroes.
Didn't realize you were a Lincoln/FDR fan.
I am well know not to be.
The point is two men who were Presidents and are now in the American mythos did what you think Trump might do.
Trump so far as President has not violated the separation of powers, the Constitution, or ignored legitimate rulings from the United States Supreme Court.
He brought the country close to a constitutional crisis in 2021. It's naive to think he couldn't do so again.
Again....fear mongering about the future.
He is President beating out a leftist female radical identarian politician (thank God)
And we will get to see what policies he attempts while Chief Executive
You and the rest of the girls on here are scared to death and think our Constitutional system can't handle issues that arise in the future.
I am not afraid
Can't handle circumventing the Checks and Balances built into the system?
Who is circumventing the checks and balances built into the system right now?
What the every loving F*** are you talking about?
No checks and balances have been circumvented as of this time 2:20pm central time on 11/15/24 you hysterical female
You are scared about the future and running to your fainting couch over possibilities
[ "I know the Democrats are clutching their pearls right now, and they're very, very upset about everything," said Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., on Fox News.
"But if you think about how they have weaponized the DOJ, this is a situation that needs serious reform," he said. "It's President Trump's prerogative to choose who he wants to nominate."]
