We cannot get rid of this guy soon enough!!

Never forget that a lot of Senate Republicans wanted this absolute establishment boob to be Senate Leader

[Thune, the current whip, won 29 votes on the second round of voting against the former Whip Sen. John Cornyn, who received 24 votes. Sen. Rick Scott was eliminated after the first round after receiving the least votes. ]

There is still so much work to be done in reforming the GOP

Senators, including Cornyn, have an obligation to thoroughly vet ALL nominees for executive appointments, including Gaetz.

Leaving aside Gaetz (your personally hobby horse that you are obsessed with)

There are lot of other reasons to not like Cornyn and consider him a very bad representative of Texas Conservativism in the Senate.

(seriously do you dream about Gaetz at night?)
I'm surprised you are so compliant when it comes to Gaetz

Because I don't personally care about some Rep. from Florida

And I am inclined to give the Presidential winner of the popular vote and electoral vote the benefit of the doubt when he wishes to have a person take a role in his administration

You seem to think DC should move to block him and are really concerned about it
I'm not concerned about a Rep who resigned under a cloud of serious accusations. I'm concerned about the attorney general of the USA.

As a general proposition, the president should be given great latitude in whom he wishes to appoint. I've said nothing critical about any of Trump's appointments, other than Gaetz. I'm sure he wants the opportunity to clear his name. You sure are docile and trusting when it comes to executive appointments. A startling lack of curiosity

The nonpartisan group is calling on the Senate to withhold confirmation hearings for Gaetz "until a full and transparent investigation is conducted into his possible role in the exploitation of young women and girls at the 'sex parties' he has admitted to attending."

"These parties reportedly included young women, some allegedly minors, who were paid to participate in sex acts," the letter reads. "It is further alleged that Mr. Gaetz did not merely attend these events but actively participated. Evidence suggests he sent payments through Venmo and Cash App to an associate, who then transferred funds to the women, labeling payments as 'tuition.'"
We currently have the most compromised attorney general in history that has weaponized the FBI and DOJ against the political enemies of his political party and you are worried about the possibility Gaetz was at a sex party. It is really insane.
You sure are trusting of the Deep State. Aren't you curious why Gaetz was the most disliked member of the HOR?

You could just stop there

Let the President have his pick (he just won a mandate election to the Executive Office)

If this rep. for Florida is to out of line then the Senate Republicans will pull out on nomination and it will die

But this hyperventilating about a sitting US Congressman from Florida becoming AG is wild.
The discomfort isn't with him being a sitting US Congressman, and you know it. The discomfort is that he's a drug sniffing, prostitute hiring pervy d-bag that was an unserious Congressman who doesn't have the first clue about running one of the most important government agencies in the world.

You're just in the "I want to see it burn" category. Well that is something a 5 yr old wants.
Your accusations have as much validity as Biden showering with his niece. Its funny when it comes to republicans the morality police come out but stay hidden when democrats are in charge.

Actually no

I am in the category of there should not be massive unaccountable government agencies that are "the most powerful in the world" that you are scared to death might fall into the wrong hands.

Where is the DOJ even mentioned in our Constitution? (yes AG is mentioned)

You love a massively powerful Federal bureaucracy...strange how so many grown men are big gov. boot lickers.

I think their power should be so small that you would not need to freak out if a "drug sniffing prostitute loving" politician was running the thing.

ps.

I mean look at this ever growing ever expanding leviathan entity...its ludicrous

[Under the leadership of the Attorney General of the United States, the Justice Department is composed of more than 40 separate component organizations and more than 115,000 employees. In FY 2024, the Department of Justice (DOJ) had $68.05 Billion distributed among its 11 sub-components. Agencies spend available budgetary resources by making financial promises called obligations...]

The Founding Fathers would he horrified a Department like this had gotten so big and so powerful.

And lets not even talk about its endless violations of American citizens rights.

Burn it down? No, but God please down size this thing ASAP

Aren't you curious why Gaetz was the most disliked member of the HOR?

Interesting that Congress is a universally despised institution to the public

So lets take the approval of these political creatures with a huge grain of salt.

So a universally hated group of politicians (that you seem to like for some strange reason) hated him

Cool

That tells us nothing more than they are all pretty horrid people in DC

The more you freak out about this guy the more I am inclined to give him a chance.

Maybe blow and babes is what it takes to get good things done at the DOJ... lol

Holder and Garland weaponized the DOJ against their political enemies and every day Americans.

Garland even sent government jackboot thugs to intimidate school moms in N. Virginia and elsewhere who were peacefully protesting the inclusion of LGBTQ and DEI nonsense in their schools.

(Garlands daughter and son in law just happened to be running a scam selling DEI dreck to public schools)

And that was just the tip of the iceberg with those two

Earlier in the day, some of Mr. Gaetz's colleagues made no secret of their joy to see him depart.
"Most people in there are giddy about it. Get him out of here," said Representative Max Miller, Republican of Ohio, speaking about his G.O.P. colleagues who were gathered to vote in leadership elections. He said Mr. Trump had plenty of other good options for nominees, but probably went with Mr. Gaetz to reward his loyalty.
Before Mr. Gaetz's resignation was publicly announced, Mr. Miller suggested that if the Senate hearings unearthed new and convincing evidence that the misconduct allegations against Mr. Gaetz were true, his colleagues could expel him, as they did Representative George Santos late last year.
Mr. Miller said he and other House Republicans were shocked that Mr. Gaetz had agreed to participate in the Senate confirmation hearings, which involve rigorous and invasive background checks.
"I'm surprised that Matt would do this to himself," Mr. Miller said. "I want to go get a big bag of popcorn and pull up a front-row seat to that show."

[Under the leadership of the Attorney General of the United States, the Justice Department is composed of more than 40 separate component organizations and more than 115,000 employees. So a universally hated group of politicians (that you seem to like for some strange reason) hated him

Cool

That tells us nothing more than they are all pretty horrid people in DC

The more you freak out about this guy the more I am inclined to give him a chance.

Maybe blow and babes is what it takes to get good things done at the DOJ... lol
Blow and sex parties with minors. Quite the recommendation
leaving old Gaetz the grinder aside for a second

Are you every gonna talk about this expansive government bureaucracy you love so much....Mr. institutionalist?

[Under the leadership of the Attorney General of the United States, the Justice Department is composed of more than 40 separate component organizations and more than 115,000 employees. In FY 2024, the Department of Justice (DOJ) had $68.05 Billion distributed among its 11 sub-components. Agencies spend available budgetary resources by making financial promises called obligations...]

What has Gaetz done in his life that makes you believe he can reform an agency with 115,000 employees?

Have you been crying in the halls about it today?

Aren't you curious why Gaetz was the most disliked member of the HOR?

Interesting that Congress is a universally despised institution to the public

So lets take the approval of these political creatures with a huge grain of salt.

Eric Holder and Merrik Garland look like the kind of creepy guys who know about sex with minors

(Just not girls)

I get it. Because Holder and Garland were bad Republicans should nominate someone worse under the "hold my beer" section of the Constitution

So far you have not proven he is worse (just that he thought to be a sex pest)
I haven't proved anything about Gaetz. I'm advocating for a confirmation hearing..

Exactly

But you sure have made a lot of accusations about him.

(and calm down....you will almost certainly your confirmation hearings)
"almost certainly"
Are you in favor of hearings?

I could not give a ****

If the Senate wants to wave him through or have hearings about it does not matter to me

You are the one trigger by this appointment

Evidence suggests he sent payments through Venmo and Cash App to an associate, who then transferred funds to the women, labeling payments as 'tuition.'"
We currently have the most compromised attorney general in history that has weaponized the FBI and DOJ against the political enemies of his political party and you are worried about the possibility Gaetz was at a sex party. It is really insane.
Aren't you curious why Gaetz was the most disliked member of the HOR?

Interesting that Congress is a universally despised institution to the public

So lets take the approval of these political creatures with a huge grain of salt.

[Congress' Job Approval Drops to 13%

https://news.gallup.com/poll/513410/congress-job-approval-drops-lowest-2017.aspx]
Gaetz was the most despised member of a body with 13% approval rating. I'm looking forward to the hearing in front of a friendly committee.

No, you?

Uh no

I have not been the one on this website freaking out about him all day

It's gonna be ok buddy

Your precious massive bloated Federal DOJ will be fine.

You seem obsessed over Gaetz.

Not as much as you and your 100 Gaetz posts

(Wanna tell us something there buddy…his he making you feel strange feelings?)

And you have matched post for post
Do you have an opinion about any other nominees?

1. Because your obsession about him is funny as hell

2. Yea I do
