I think it's more that calling it the WNBA discriminates like it's not the "real" NBA. The delusion around the WNBA is pure comedy except that so many of them actually believe they deserve (yes that's the word they use) the same things the men have.

FTR I like WBB and I don't think any top .1% professional should be working for $70,000 but, as it turns out, being a 1% WNBA player is only slightly more in demand than being a top .1% pinball player. If the demand isn't there you might have to go pro in something else.
