Biggest issue in a prison is crowd control. Working there is no cakewalk. Guards need all the help they can get to keep issues at bay.

You mean rounding up quite literally anyone and throwing them in prison without trial cleaned up the streets. I am shocked. But mostly that anyone with a college degree would think this is acceptable practice.

How in the world am I the bleeding heart in this scenario. I've never been that im my entire life and you have me siding with criminals.

I also feel very strongly that a week in Attica would change the opinion of every person on this board saying prisons are too nice. Maybe even 12 hours.

The problem is we have kept too many people in our prisons who in a just society should have been dangling from a rope...and recently, communist operatives posing as judges and Democrat politicians have been turning them loose.

The job of a justice system is to punish evildoers. It would be nice if we had one. We have a for profit legal system that thinks its job is to reform them.

Prisons need to be as awful as possible so no one wants to go to them.

The prisoners all need to work- bring back chain gangs. Except for violent offenders, child offenders and a few select others. They can work in the prison. Every prison should have a farm connected to it. And other jobs that help teach the prisoners real world skills, even if it is just for minimum wage service industry, construction, auto shop, type jobs.

Any prisoner that doesn't have a high school diploma should be required to get a ged.

No extras. Meals should be one step above the nutrient paste in the Star Wars Andor show they had in prison. Cold cut sandwich, fruit, veggies, etc. Basic stuff.

It's God's covenant with Abraham 4,000 years ago found in Genesis 12:3:

The debate is whether it only applied to Abraham long ago or still applies to modern Israel, many of whose residents are his descendants. I make this same argument on lawfare & such...reciprocity....whatever they do to us, we can do to them, so choose wisely. BUT. Spending IS out of control. Debt is unsustainable. And it casts a pall over not just fiscal finances, but everything.....economy, national security, etc..... Worse, as defined by getting stuff passed thru Congress, there is no political will to cut anything of substance.

So IF you are going to run the reciprocity risk, at least do it on something that really matters, for everyone....now and for future generations. And I know a guy who'll be willing to do it and ignore the ensuing squeals of outrage.
