They could both be bad men. Bill Clinton literally raped a woman. I don't actually care that he shoved a cigar in another woman though it was an awful abuse of power.

It's like the world forgot Bill Clinton and Kobe Bryant are rapists.

I have seen a few instances noted here where the tariff issue may have caused problems, but personally I have seen none of it (Waco, Tx).

In my blue collar world, numbers are down as far as every day expenses are concerned....Gas, groceries, etc.

I know of nobody that has went out of business and I deal with quite a few material suppliers along with contractors (construction).

What has made it more difficult is competition from illegals...$12 an hour is impossible to compete with for skilled labor, especially when they aren't "skilled".

I don't really have a good command of national economic policies so I don't have much of an opinion there.

What are some seeing that I am not?

The economy looks better to me at the moment.

What am I missing?
Trump needs to address and make trade deals with our #1 and #2 trading partners , Canada and Mexico. Much higher prices for vehicles and produce loom large.

I know everyone here hates Clinton. I was not a fan when he was elected, but looking back. He did a good job with the Budget. He and Newt got it done.

I don't hate Clinton but I strongly dislike them both and never trusted them. I don't think he deserves much of the credit for the economic successes he witnessed. They were the result of policies he hated. I will grant that he was capable of pragmatism and compromise far more than any Dem leader since then, except maybe a few in Congress in the early years of this century.

When you say either, Newt? Because Hillary and Bill are two SEPARATE politicians. Bill was a competent Administrator that knew when to cut loses, even if he didn't like it. I respect that. Hillary is a scumbag.

We rate Presidents by what they left. Clinton left a surplus and a balanced budget. Clinton left Bush a good situation. So, I have to give him high marks.

Bill Clinton was and is a sexual predator. His greatest legacy as president is having sex in the Oval Office with a woman almost the age of his daughter. It's been pretty much confirmed that he went to Epstein's island repeatedly.

As for politics, he made "Wag the Dog" into a reality (instead of merely a Hollywood thing), vetoed welfare reform twice before signing it, benefitted from the Reagan boom and the end of the Cold War although he did nothing to achieve either (mostly the same for Bush 41), did nothing to stop Osama bin Laden & other terrorists and actually encouraged them through his weaknesses, gave us the Ruby Ridge & Waco disasters, are possibly the most corrupt political figures in US history (despite stiff competition from the Bush's, Obama's, Biden's, Pelosi's, & others), and so much more.

I put Bill & Hillary together because they are collaborators in almost everything they've done over the past 30 years.
I do not disagree with his personal traits. The only saving grace was she was legal, very low bar I know. I am not saying he should be on Mt Rushmore. He did a good job as President working with Congress and leaving us in a good position. His personal demons were problematic.

Not sure Bill Clinton would even be considered a Democrat in 2025. He was the last President to balance the budget.

Donald Trump is asking to raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion. That tells me it is business as usual in Washington D.C. It appears Trump has NO intention of reducing overall spending. Not good.

I'm talking about the DNC leadership and leadership model. The Clintons put their party in the hands of the more radical left.

Yes, Trump did some horrible things in the past. We all have. There is not much evidence that Trump is a rapist. There is far more evidence against Clinton although no one has the guts to prosecute him. Clinton went to Epstein's island repeatedly. We have no reason to believe Trump ever did.

More importantly, Trump is a changed man, especially after July 13. We have no reason to believe Clinton is any different in his predatory behavior than he was 30 years ago.

My point is that Clinton's "accomplishments" had little to do with him and more to do with others and with circumstances. I will give credit where credit is due. Clinton deserves very little.

All of the major denominations are notoriously woke. That's why real Christian's are abandoning them. Even the SBC seems to be moving in that direction although I think they have staved off the latest attempt to turn them to the dark side.

There are some pretty clear delineations between groups like the ELCA and the Missouri Synod for Lutherans, United Methodist vs Global Methodist, etc. Seems like every Christian group has a "woke" spinoff group

You will give credit if you like the person. Also, you will give the person a pass, if you like them. If you dont it does not matter. Trump is a changed man. Even though if you look at how he governed. He has spent like Biden, not worked with Congress, and not come close to balancing the budget. Clinton did all the things you profess to want. But...

Yeah, which of us gives how much credit is 100% irrelevant, we are just shooting the **** here. Fact is, Clinton was the last fiscally conservative President. He was not proposing huge imbalanced budgets that Congress had to cut and balance, he was absolutely a part of the balanced budget.

It is healthy to be able to compartmentalize a bit. Be able to acknowledge that Clinton did some good over here, some bad over there. Otherwise we just see the bad, and turn into tribal zealots who are just plain ole haters of the enemy.

Cool. By the way, I didn't vote for Clinton. My discussions on him are looking back. In the moment, it was turmoil. I also think Bush Sr got screwed by history. Bush Jr was bad. 9/11 saved him and 2008 was bad. Obama did nothing in 8 years, but apologize. Disgrace. Trump??? Good Ideas, but like everything else he does not finish well... I am holding my breath, he keeps pushing things - like the plane. Why???

This isn't racism toward white people. This is hypocrisy. Are we sending back migrates (even legal ones (Cubans/Hatians) or are we accepting migrants?

What allowed them to get to the front of the line ahead of Afghans who helped us in war?

Seems a lot of subjectivity and Patronage. Pendulum swung too much opposite. I am a data guy, come up with a transparent methodology and follow it.

Trump is 100% transactional. Biden was 100% political. Can't we get a decent person in charge? It has been a parade of crap since Bush Sr. Seems no standards, all agenda driven.
