She asked for mercy for people that are scared. And they are rightfully scared based on the things Trumps has said he would do and has already done. You can hate the sin, you can even hate the sinner if you want to (but I don't think that's what jesus taught you to do), but these are humans with real human emotions, feelings, and fears. It's really shocking how so many of you that claim to be christians are so hateful.

This is coming from someone that can sympathize with Trump voters. I understand why you vote for Trump, I get it completely. And I understand there is a culture war going on. But I think as a country, we can find some common ground that still treats people of this community humanely.

That was not a sermon uplifting Jesus in any way but purely a political grievance shill. Trump's faith nor his personality nor even any political bent (eg. MAGA) had no place in a service to pray for the leadership of the nation.

She had the perfect opportunity to powerfully lay out the Gospel, including grace and mercy to all, but sacrificed it all on the altar of personal political bias. Clearly this bishop is unwilling to offer that which she demands of others, a characteristic which disqualifies her from leading the body of Christ.

Question....if I illegally went into another country what would happen to me? Does Mexico or Canada allow illegals to be in their country? Do other countries pay hotel rooms and meals for illegals? I do understand why libtards think all this is ok. And the politics in the church shouldn't be there.

If they are illegal immigrants they are scared because they broke the law and entered the country illegally....also not sure why people should be that scared to be sent home to their own countries...but ok

If they are scared because they are LGBTQ then its a ridiculous thing to even say or feel.

Trump is actually one of the more pro-LGBTQ Republican Presidents we have had. He has never said anything bad about gays, has no personal moral problems with homosexuality, and only said that biological men and biological women should be defined as law. (something that was normal until the day before yesterday and something the vast majority of the American people believe in)

I would hope a pastor would ask for that country to have mercy on you. If it is China, North Korea, Russia, or a middle eastern country, you probably wouldn't be treated very well. I don't think resorting to being as bad as them is a good idea. I'm not sure what Mexico or Canada would do. I know they have laws regarding people immigrating illegally to their country, but since they aren't the shining beacon for the world to follow, they don't have as bad of an immigration problem as the US does. But I wasn't really responding to the illegal immigrating point as I think we should humanely remove people that are here illegally and have them go through the proper channels if they want to live here. I was responding to the issues about gays and trans people. These are law-abiding US citizens, and many of them actually agree with many of you on most political issues other than gay issues. That was what I was really responding to.

My issues wasn't with illegal immigrants. Yes, they are scared, but yes, they broke the law and should have known this might be coming.

LGBTQ people have not broken any laws. You can say they broke laws against christianity, and that's fine, but we are a secular state. Trump is one of the more pro-LGBTQ republican presidents, but he has made it very clear he is going to pass a lot of laws and executive orders that strips away some of their rights and protections. Some of them I think are reasonable (no trans athletes playing in womens' sports or no gender affirming care for minors as an example), but some will limit their civil rights protections, and those on those issues, the president of the United State of America should have mercy on the people that it will impact. It's still to be seen if he follows through with those, but many in the LGBTQ community are afraid based on what he has said he will do.

Exactly. Many pastors over the centuries have preached conservative stances and people complaining in this thread have never made a peep about those instances. But since they disagree with this pastor, then a pastor shouldn't be allowed to voice their opinion. That is hypocritical in my mind and very anti-christian.
