All priests and preachers have the right to voice their opinions.

Not just the opinions we agree with.

She wasn't just voicing her opinion, she was forgoing a Christian sermon in order to attack Trump.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

That wasn't a sermon. It was a politically motivated lecture. At best it was inappropriate and uncalled for.

It's the National Cathedral

It hosts the largest national religious events

The activist Bishop has the right to do what she did….but it shows her to be a low class hack to turn what are supposed to be national bipartisan and non-political events into a hectoring political activist event

It's also just a sad secondary commentary on what the once great Episcopalian Church has become and the types of people who now control it

*PS

She has also been a activist and anti-Trump leftist for a long time

Yeah I think they just picked the wrong person to preach that day. Any one of us could have seen a pic of her and known what was going to happen. She drives a Subaru and owns a cat.

I judge people by their looks and she is definitely a 'two-bagger'.

She is the Episcopal bishop of Washington DC

So the National Cathedral is under her control technically.

Probably had to let her speak.

But interesting that at a "unity" event that featured lots of clergy types they refused to invite any conservative evangelicals

[More than a dozen religious leaders spoke during the interfaith service, including those from Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu traditions.

Notably absent from the invited clergy with speaking roles were conservative evangelicals, who are among President Trump's strongest supporters.

Nonetheless, some of those evangelical supporters were in the pews.]

And I thought the marxist left insisted on no political commentary from church pulpits!

The students and staff of Truett that thing this woman is a hero are the same that get uber butthurt about politics and church (if they're evangelical).

This will have the unfortunate but inevitable consequence of Republicans choosing to engage in public religious ceremonies in another location where the clergy won't use the opportunity for political statements. Trump is definitely not the one to do it, but I could see a future President who is evangelical responding to such a statement by publicly rebuking the bishop, which she would richly deserve.

When a pastor leads off the sermon talking about gay and trans youth, you know she is not speaking the word of God.

Whomever set this farce up for his early morning prayer meeting should be fired.

She is free to preach her schtick to her followers, her lecturing Trump was bull *****

You don't go to church to get individually pointed out and lecture to by a preacher, who is
full of sin themselves.

BS move by whatever leftist set this "sermon" up.

So this Bishop attends a pride parade, God says pride is a sin and this Bishop calls herself a Christian?

About as blatantly satanic as it gets. Revelations is spot on.
