True, but in the case of DC, they absolutely lied. They changed homicides to home accidents, even they they were obviously murdered and so forth. That was from the DC Police Union, re what they were told by the 'up high' to do
I am not a fan of National Guard deployments for performance issues. I do not like to see US troops or tactical police patrolling US streets. This is a bad precedent.
Yet it had to be done IMO. This is where the entire USA operates from. The House, the Senate, the POTUS, they are alll there. In an unsafe space. Murders, rape, car jackings and so forth on a daily/weekly basis. Absolutely corrupt.
Come on, it has been the same since the 60s. Baltimore, Philly, Detroit, Albuquerque, Houston are worse and feel less safe. Hell the Bronx in NY is a war zone. We sending in Nat Guard? Next time a Dem wins and they will at some point, do Red cities get occupied over diversity violations? Or climate issues? This is a slippery slope.
I have no problem as DC is not a state and has a Mayor whose administration is facing multiple federal investigations, and several city officials who served under her have been charged with corruption.
