A family member told CBS News Texas that Boone was a senior at Dunbar High School in Fort Worth.
"She was getting ready to go to college. She was very smart. We are just trying to figure out why they shot her," the family member said.
As the officers continued their investigation into Boone's death, another shooting call came in.

I have a few friends who are black, but I don't even think about their color because they are not part of the ghetto culture. They are educated Americans who have rejected the nasty hip-hop culture and have embraced Christian culture instead. They are good husbands, good fathers, good Christians, good businessmen or co-workers, and good contributors to American society. The exact opposite of the modern black culture in America. Most of them are considered "Uncle Toms" by their extended family.
There is less and less gray area for black Americans these days. You either fully embrace ghetto, hip-hop, Jasmine Crockett culture... or you are a good, decent person who fully rejects it.
