I would hope that Reagan would not think such a thing. I consider myself a moderate conservative and an independent. For me, I am neither for every Republican issue or Democrat issue, as I believe both go too far on certain issues. To me, once someone starts voting along straight party lines they tend to quit thinking and allow their belief system to do what is natural for it to do, which is to subconsciously code information accordingly. One also tends to quit doing their homework on the candidate, voting records, funding and character.
In my opinion both parties no longer represent my interests nor that of the average American voter.

I am in communication with people who have what I consider relevant experience in the matter, and one thing I hear over and over is that things are not as we hear in the media. Some of that may be intentional, but a lot of it is the human habit of jumping to conclusions when we do not have enough good data.

I mention that, because you don't seem - at all - to understand that Trump is not making these decisions all by himself, nor is he forcing a this-or-else outcome.

He's actually being pragmatic, if you stop and think about it.

I can't agree that Trump is a pragmatic person according to the definition. However I will admit that some of his decisions are pragmatic, although they may not actually be his, based on observing his overall behavior and record.
