This is why Lindsey's defense of Kavanaugh was so forceful and effective. He was an old school guy who got along with people on both sides of the aisle (he similarly decided to get along with Trump when it became clear it was more practical, and Trump's comments on him are pretty poignant). He believed in the system and the process, and he was so deeply offended by the Democrats' misuse of it that he was extremely effective in defending Kavanaugh.

I disagreed with Lindsey on a number of things, but losing someone of his caliber is a blow to the Senate and the system generally. Doesn't appear they're making many more of those.

Wasn't a fan, but I don't want anyone to die. I hope he knew was right with God.

So who is going to take his seat? Hopefully we get an upgrade.
