He didn't care one bit about the virus, but only to advance himself. What a sick liberal Democrat.
You are: (a) an idiot; (b) evil; ofr (c) both.
Those are simple notes taken over the course of the pandemic that relate dailyu activities. Many execs do this so that they have a clear record of what transpired. The fact that celbrities are included in the notes is a reflection of what happened, not his obsession with fame.
You follow the Trump/Bannon playbook-mislabel the headline in a deciving way knowing that one in a thousand is going to actually read the real information. Then "Fauci cared only about celebrity" becomes an accepted fact in your cult despite being nowhere near the truth. It is intellectually dishonest at best.
So it's normal for most people to include hundreds of instances of hero worship in their diary?
Wow.
What's really damning is his statements in early 2020 that clearly indicate he believed the virus didn't come from the wuhan market but instead the Wuhan lab, only to spend the next six years discrediting that theory.
I agree with your last paragraph, but there is a world in which his views changed as he learned more.
Your first is point is dumb. If you kept a diary and had a phone call with Diana Ross, you would likely right about it. If you regularly testify to congress, give interviews to the media, brief the President and cabinet, yes you right stuff down so you remember.
Question, where did he say it came from the Wuhan Lab? It reads to me like he didn't know where, when confronted with new info he called meetings to discuss. Isn't that what you do? I do.
We have real problems, today. I don't get the Fauci attention about 6 years ago? There is no smoking gun here? It is all very ambiguous.
I heard someone read a passage from the Fauci Files where he writes the lab as the source and describes the wet market as something else - sorry, having a senior moment but like the catalyst or something like that. Basically it came from the lab but the wet market really spread it into the local population. If that is wrong then I stand corrected.
Thanks.
My view (figured you would like that word) is that we still don't really know what happened in China for this to develop. Was it animals? Lab? Market an "accelarator"? It is not like it happened in Seattle and we can get all the information. I read it and it seemed like he was searching. The things I look at were:
1 - When others had different ideas, he called meetings and discussed. He didn't shut it down.
2 - He asked questions of others one what they knew.
3 - The writing showed emotion and surprise, like the asymptomatic spreading.
4- He was glad to know that there was not a GOF connection to his money.
Finally, it was in China. Not exactly an open and trusted allie, so who knows.
I am less upset with Fauci and more with Trump and Biden for the Trillions in give aways and the shutting down the economy. I blame both....
I think that's completely the opposite of what happened.
1. Fauci was funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan
2. He actively worked to shut down the "lab leak theory" via the use of grants, the media, and politics that would make LBJ blush
The Fauci Files sort or re-affirm what a narcissistic he is ... who has a portrait of themselves in their office. My speculation is he quickly fell in love with his own celebrity. Where I think this likely negatively impacted public policy is he probably worked to ensure he had a place of influence and control even if not necessary. and if that meant stoking hysteria and continuing things he likely knew were pointless just so he could be on TV ever day and sit with celebrities.
It's funny how we have such short memories - the guy was a pariah in February 2020.
Regardless, it all does rest on Trump and Biden for good and bad. Trump's vaccine was positive but overall his handling of the pandemic was not great. However, TDS played a role. I am old enough to remember that his initial instinct was correct to stop all travel to/from China, but he was immediately called T'RACIST and Democrats were on social media and media telling people to go out and eat in Chinatown and go to the Chinese New Year's festivals.
Fauci's opposition to this was where he should have lost credibility: anybody with basic common sense would realize this is the smart thing to do - why do we think China stopped domestic flights to Wuhan? However, the TDSers could not even stop during a pandemic and had to politicize everything and became bastions of disinformation.
