The edited video looks authentic: Acosta appeared to swiftly chop down on the arm of an aide as he held onto a microphone while questioning President Trump. But in the original video, Acosta's arm appears to move only as a response to a tussle for the microphone. His statement, "Pardon me, ma'am," is not included in the video Sanders shared.

Critics said that video which sped up the movement of Acosta's arms in a way that dramatically changed the journalist's response was deceptively edited to score political points. That edited video was first shared by Paul Joseph Watson, known for his conspiracy-theory videos on the far-right website Infowars.

Watson said he did not change the speed of the video and that claims he had altered it were a "brazen lie." Watson, who did not immediately respond to requests for comment, told BuzzFeed he created the video by downloading an animated image from conservative news site Daily Wire, zooming in and saving it as a video a conversion he says could have made it "look a tiny bit different."

Side-by-side comparisons support claims from fact-checkers and experts such as Jonathan Albright, research director of the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University, who argued that crucial parts of the video appear to have been altered so as to distort the action.

The video has quickly become a flashpoint in the battle over viral misinformation, turning a live interaction watched by thousands in real time into just another ideological tug-of-war. But it has also highlighted how video content long seen as an unassailable verification tool for truth and confirmation has become as vulnerable to political distortion as anything else.
Did you not see his post a few above yours? He literally zoomed in, exactly how is that 'doctored'?

Amazing what you believe and are brainwashed from MSNBC & CNN.
So "zooming in" is now a doctored video according to Jinx. The dude chopped down on the young ladies arm, realizing what he was doing he quickly stopped. But Acosta is not an innocent party here. Such a jackass shouldn't be allowed in the Press Corps.

Ask a question and shut up, don't try to create the story. Guy should have been booted long ago.

She reached for the microphone to take it away from him. His arm touched hers. But the contact was clearly her fault--Acosta didn't even realize she was there. he also spoke respectfully to her. HE showed her more respect that she or Trump showed him.

I'm not going to change your mind; you are going to believe whatever Sanders and the Trump propaganda machine pump out. But that's what happened.

I saw this before any reporting happened online, I was watching it live.

That is her job to reach for the microphone and move it to the next journalist. Trump had already moved on, he yanked it back. Nice try.

Acosta didn't realize she was there? That is your argument now?
He literally turns away from her as she walks up because he knows she's there to take the microphone

How is it doctored, you can see the exact same thing on the CNN video, the dude chops her arm and soon realizes what he is doing and backs off. The other guy simply does a close up of it.

Ask a tough question and shut up, he doesn't do that. No business in the press corps, at least Trump hasn't jailed him.

I swear the mind of a liberal is a mystery.

Last month: We believe Ford's account from 30+ years ago, with no evidence and all her witnesses denying it happened.

Today: With proof & video evidence against Acosta, we believe Acosta and condemn this female White House staffer for an attack on Acosta.

We're sick and tired of playing by YOUR rules. These are OUR rules.

You reap what you sow Jinx. You did it to us when we were concerned about Obama money laundering cold hard cash and shipping it on pallets in the middle of the night to the number one state sponsor of terrorism.

Not a big fan of Acosta or CNN. I think any decent poli sci student could have typed up a better question for him.
That being said, Trump and Trumpians have no idea of what the WH Press used to be like. If he went off on Acosta, he would have ordered Secret Service to Fire on Sam Donaldson.

I've seen his posts multiple times online and everything I have seen has been backed up. The liberals think any 'conservative' group is a conspiracy website. Could he have reported something that turned up false in the past? Of course, but that happens almost daily on MSNBC & CNN.

Typical liberal tactics. Same thing they have been using against FoxNews for almost 20 years.

I'm still amazed that 95% of the media is proven to be liberal, yet Dems are terrified of the remaining 5%. Just shows they don't want free an open and equal press. They want to control everything you hear. It's why the Obama press conferences were essentially love fest w/ almost zero accountability.

thats pretty sad, though after a quick google (which reveals plenty of News articles about the incident from the time it happened), she wasnt removed FROM Air Force 1, but an area near it and was trying to give Obama a letter, the security staff suggested she give it to a staffer, she refused, saying she wanted to give it to him personally, they told her to leave, changed their minds, then changed them again, asked her to leave, she refused and she was removed from the area.

She wasnt "removed for being Pro-Life"

Also, although she probably is Pro-Life, she was there to give him a letter to take a stand for Traditional Marriage (presumably as opposed to Gay Marriages), she claimed to have WH press credentials, but this wasnt confirmed by anyone and she offered no evidence to support that claim.

Cleary he isn't middle-Eastern, but that's a dated photo of him. I'm not defending infowars, I've actually never even been to their site (do they have a site?), but the early reports on the shooting were wrong by other news sources as well. I happened to be up late last night working and had the tv tuned to CNN. The initial reports of the shooter was that he was in his 20s and had a lot of tattoos. I don't know if he has tattoos now, but none of the photos I've seen of him show any visible tattoos. Infowars is a clearly biased site and they will run with anything, confirmed or not, that fits their agenda, but sadly, that's how a lot of the media sources are these days.

This video is great because they zoom in and play the incident on repeat. Close up it sure does look like a bully physically imposing his will and trying to prevent a young lady from doing her job. I'm sure Leftists will applaud this though. They'll probably try to destroy that poor white White House aide next as punishment for daring attempt to take the mic from their leftist reporter god.

It looks like the aide is reaching in to snatch the Mic away, all Acosta does is hold on to it, the only bully in the room is Trump and when he doesnt get his way, throws his toys out of the pram like the giant baby that he is.
Trump is the kind of bully who tries to head off a perceived threat by making sure the bearers realize he's going to erupt at them like a supervolcano. Acosta didn't cave to that (and he certainly didn't push the officious little intern).

He was asking a legitimate question about Trump's rhetoric inciting violence. Trump didn't want to hear or answer the question. So Trump went on the offensive, trashing Acosta and 2 other reporters.

He's using the same tactic to try to ward off the investigation. Which makes it clear what he really fears. Wonder if he fired Sessions to make that the headline yesterday rather than the GOP's retaking of the House. That's his M.O.
A$$hat Acosta isn't "asking a legitimate question"; first words out of his mouth "... wanna challenge you on one of the statements you made..." followed by a lecture/assertion, "the caravan was not an invasion". What a ******. Perhaps if he would simply ask a question? But, no...
Asking the president why he outright lied about a caravan of refugees who won't reach the border for weeks and mischaracterized them as an "invasion" is totally legitimate.

You want everybody to sit down, shut up and believe everything Trump and his administration say--even the things you know aren't true--because you support his agenda.

I'm glad we have a press who won't do that.

My question is why Acosta thought he might get an honest answer from Trump re: the hateful rhetoric or his miscahracterization of the Honduran refugees. Trump was obviously not going to answer either of those questions--at least not truthfully.
Way to completely deflect or miss the point. Acosta did not ask questions as anyone can see (who bothers to take the time). He literally begins with a challenge and follows up with an assertion. Is he looking for answers, or lecturing? Typical...

My question is why would the President even bother to acknowledge such a narcissistic dirtbag who can't even pose an honest question?

which, if you didnt know, was carried out by this guy, obviously not a "Middle Eastern Man with a Beard"

Many news agencies were reporting this earlier today. I saw many liberal sites describing it as a man who looked middle eastern before they even tweeted this. But feel free to pick the one you disagree w/

for those that seem to be claiming the video wasnt doctored (if you read the twitter thread, which im sure most of you wont, you'll also see its likely that the White House probably just took the video straight from Info Wars, which is hilarious and scary on so many levels)
It's the kind of thing they would do in Saudi Arabia and it's not funny.

Scary? Really?

that people in the White House get their news from a right wing conspiracy nutjob? yes, its pretty scary

You were saying? This was posted about 4 hours prior to Watson's post which is why so many people spread this. This is a very credible source, don't you think?

OK, liberals. Here is the exact explanation which proves again the liberals are trying to demonize the source to distract from the actual topic. This guy is British and calls out the radical left in Europe all the time, he also goes after the liberal media a lot which is why they are called 'conspiracy' theorists.

I've been following this story since early this a.m., and the only info I've seen about the shooter was that he was a former Marine and that he had pscyhological problems.

Twitter is not a reliable news source.
