it is about the teachings in the scout manual. The girl scouts didnt teach the same stuff. At the boy scout level, troops are either all boys or all girls. At the cub scout level, the dens of a pack would be all boys and all girls or the entire pack could be designated all boys or all girls.

I wish more kids and parents would get into scouts, it helps kids understand life skills, it is so much more than a a group of kids going on camping trips a few times a year...
