Judges who follow the Constitution is nonsensical

Effective action against ISIS? By ceding all influence in Middle East to Russia? That's his big win?

A lot of good people don't want statues of Robt E Lee removed. They aren't white supremacists.
If one wants a statue of a traitor in a public place one cannot be a good person. Should we have a statue of Benedict Arnold?
Funny you should mention that. There are actually several monuments to Arnold, although the name has been removed from each. The problem is that while Arnold was undeniably a traitor, he was also a hero and almost single-handedly won the battle at Saratoga.
Attacking the USA is treasonous according to the Constitution.

Not defending Gen. Arnold, but two points -

What Arnold did at Saratoga is literally legend; and

You do understand that the Constitution was written a while after the Revolutionary War ended, and therefore Arnold's actions are separate from anything written in the Constitution, right?

Nope, his kids has responsible parents and learned work ethic.

Big difference.
On one hand people say "you gotta pay for your own way" through school. "Those loans for tuition were your own decision"

On the other hand, some parent's give 18 year old adults a free college education. It may or may not be deserved. Just because the parents have learned work ethic doesn't mean the kids did.

I don't want hear complaints that millennials are wanting "free stuff" if you put your kids through college. That's called free stuff as well. It's nice that you're able to ease that burden, but free stuff is free stuff, even when it came from your parents.

That is a great question and I think the answer may be different for most people. My girl will be a college graduate and out on her own at the age of 24 years. My autistic son will graduate high school next year and more than likely will pursue a trade instead of college. A little more uncertainty about his future.

My wife and I love and care about both kids and should they for whatever reason fall on hard times, they will always be welcome at home. I have always told both kids that my #1 job as a parent is to make sure they are able to make their own way in this world after Mom and Dad are gone.

Education is not a want. It's a necessity for a republic to have educated voters. Aristocrats thought once as you do.
Education is a fact of life, boyo. If you take advantage of your opportunities and work hard in school, all kinds of opportunities come your way. But college is not for everyone, in fact some people are learning that a productive trade is more satisfying and more financially rewarding than a generic degree from college. Becoming a plumber regularly means a six-figure salary, and a contractor can make a half-million in a year if he builds a name for good work. Compare that to state college grads who can do no better than working barista jobs or retail for the Gap.

Those life decisions are the responsibility of the kids making the choices. And yes, having good parents helps but it still comes down to making the decision to carry your own weight.

Demanding someone else pay for your college is the selfish, lazy attitude of the person who can't bother to study or work hard, the kind of person who blames others for his own poor decisions.

And your line about how aristocrats think makes me wonder if you slept through History. The problem with Aristocrats was not that they supported education or not, it's that they blundered in thinking the world needed them. In the real world, you make your own future, whatever your beginnings, and the ones who succeed bust their butt to create their dreams; they don't sit around whining how someone else "owes" them a future..

It is my job to take care of my family, not the government's (taxpayer's) job.
So you have your own fire department?
I have some five gallon buckets and a water hose. Does that count? Should my house catch fire, I will probably not sit on my ass waiting for them to get there. That is the difference between you and me.
How does the water arrive at your home? You have a well?

I buy water every month from a privately owned utility called Spring Hill Water. Why do you ask?
Do they get their water from a Corp of Engineers Lake or does it meet Federal or state or local specs for clean water? You are a citizen silly. You sound unpatriotic to me. That's sad.
Wut? I sound unpatriotic because I buy my water from Spring Hill Water? Please elaborate.

The ' bidding war ' for the votes among the Dem contenders will only intensify in the coming months .

A. ' Free' health care
B. 'Reparations' for blacks ( Indians, Hispanics , vegans, Cleveland Brown fans etc )
C. 'Free' university tuition.
D. Debt forgiveness
E. 'Free monthly stipends for all Americans ( except those who insist on working )
Wow... it looks even worse when you put it all together like this.
There is no doubt that the democrat party is the party of the lazy, free-loading mooch. Hard-working people of integrity are not welcome anymore.

My fire dept is a VOLUNTEER FD, not a government run organization.

What do you have to say to me?

And there is a HUGE difference between providing water sources, fire departments, police services,.... and "free" college tuition. All of those other services are necessary to save & sustain life. Higher education is not.
There is also a huge difference between services which are provided on the very local level (police & fire), and anything that the federal government attempts to provide (the VA, immigration cluster****, tax codes that are thousands of pages long). The local level has much more accountability and efficiency. The larger the government entity, the less of both.

College level education was never intended for everyone. We have K-12 for that. The problem is that the leftists have destroyed K-12 over the past 60+ years. We used to turn out HS grads who could do complex math (Algebra, Geometry, and even Trig) with nothing more than a pencil and maybe a slide ruler. Now we have HS grads who can barely read, and many who think our planet will be destroyed in 12 years because the weather keeps changing.

We do not need to extend high school into 4 years of college. The standards in K-12 and in college need to be going up, not down. We need to get government OUT of higher education, not further and further into it.
