Maher does his show live.

Audience does not equal views.

Up your game, this is embarrassing.

Is it your belief that riflebear is Benny Johnson?
Johnson is a plagiarist, riflebear at least gives proper attribution for his often crappy quotes. I hope Mr. johnson ups his game at Turning Point.
Thanks Quash - I appreciate the compliment. Coming from the guy who admitted he debates w/out actually watching the videos that are posted. How can you 'debate' w/out knowing the facts from the people involved? Very odd

So you responded to riflebear as if he wrote the tweet? Ok.
Not at all. I've told riflebear in the past that he needs to read these things more closely.

Navy Seal can debate
Crenshaw is clearly a good all around person in general. He owned Maher on that one. Crenshaw did Joe Rogan's podcast recently as well. Another good interview, however he stumbled on his universal healthcare argument, badly. He's got some decent ideas, but healthcare in it's current form in the US is hard to defend.

No it isn't. Why do you think our healthcare has a lower death rate from the Kung Fru than the rest of the western nations? "Socialized" means ****ty for all.
Germany has the lowest death rate. By far. The US death rate is the average. You have wrongly stated that the US has a lower death rate. Wrong.

Our healthcare quality is average. Our system is below average. The higher the unemployment rate gets, the less people are insured (on it's way to 30% uninsured). Meanwhile other countries don't have that problem. Their citizens have more choice than our own citizens in a crisis.

It's the UK but anyway here you go. The law of unintended consequences.

https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1268059/cancer-deaths-coronavirus-nhs

Richard Sullivan, a professor of cancer and global health at King's College London and director of its Institute of Cancer Policy, said: "The number of deaths due to the disruption of cancer services is likely to outweigh the number of deaths from the coronavirus itself over the next five years.
Quote:

"The cessation and delay of cancer care will cause considerable avoidable suffering. Cancer screening services have stopped, which means we will miss our chance to catch many cancers when they are treatable and curable, such as cervical, bowel and breast.

"When we do restart normal service delivery after the lockdown is lifted, the backlog of cases will be a huge challenge to the healthcare system.

I don't care enough to investigate but wonder if Germany is counting "presumed" fatalities in their count that never tested positive like the US is.

18 people died in Canada yesterday in a mass shooting. 17 dead and the shooter. How many of you folks heard about it? Barely a mention from the mainstream news media. They are all in and locked and loaded on the coronavirus magic bullet. Full speed ahead!! All other news be damned.

I started getting it when they knew only 10 were dead. It showed up everywhere I get news.

I saw an unbelievable stat over the weekend. March 2020 was the first March since 2002 without a school shooting.

Do we know that over reporting is happening in the US? I can't find a reputable sources of this, but just a quick google search. I don't see why this would happen wrongfully on purpose. Lack of testing in the US maybe.

If someone tests positive and dies for any health related issue, corona virus probably should be a reason for the death along with the underlying issue. Much like how HIV is reported.

Good news and bad news:

"Preliminary results from government lab experiments show that the coronavirus does not survive long in high temperatures and high humidity, and is quickly destroyed by sunlight"

https://news.yahoo.com/sunlight-destroys-coronavirus-very-quickly-new-government-tests-find-but-experts-say-pandemic-could-still-last-through-summer-200745675.html

However:

"The real question now, Bukhari said, is whether enough people have already been infected that the summer temperatures won't prevent continued transmission."

So there's that.

I was going to post it here, but I created a separate thread on it yesterday. Probably TL/DR too.

That's when the shelter in place order started here. New York is trending well generally, but they're still the bull in the China shop. Texas continues to do very well.

It probably is more a function of not wanting to report on a school shooting in idyllic Canada than Wuhan Virus. I mean don't want to make PM Blackface look bad.

So we're back by request. Bolded above are the days since last update. I also went back and added Georgia's numbers beginning from April 3rd since eyes will be on the state as they open up this weekend and next week. Why the 3rd? That's when the shelter in place order started here. New York is trending well generally, but they're still the bull in the China shop. Texas continues to do very well.
For context, Wuhan Virus as percentage of the population:
- Total cases: affected 0.25% of the U.S. population (1 out of every 827,500 people impacted)
- Total mortality: affected 0.014% of the U.S. population (1 out of every 2.4M people impacted)

So you don't like the post above by Flaming Moderate?

It's numbers, don't numbers interest a "taxman" like yourself?

Btw, my accountant can't come up for air right now due to PPP work? He has tons of business owners needing his help to process their forms!

Why aren't you processing PPP forms from business owners? Are your clients not business owners? Do liberal "taxmen" like yourself not serve business owners? I'm shocked although I'll admit I'd never hire you to be our CPA, never! You wouldn't make it past the first 5 minutes of the initial interview! I'd be walking out afte 1-2 minutes most likely

Socialism is socialism no matter where it's done. Americans may still have enough respect for freedom to fend off these leftist Stasi fks.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took a sledgehammer to the model (and media reports) from a month ago that predicted by April 24, with "limited action," Florida would see 465,000 hospitalized. In truth? The number of hospitalizations has been a fraction of that at "slightly more than 2000."

SARS vs SARS
A physician friend of mine sent me a couple of studies evaluating the two and the responses. I'll try to summarize as just an addition to the information.

In 2003, SARS CoV-1 saw an outbreak in Asia that was ultimately contained by quarantine measures, travel bans/warnings, and shutdowns. Testing was used to be effective with those measures, and it was eventually eradicated.

There are significant similarities between SARS CoV 2 (Covid-19) and its 2003 predecessor. Very similar genome, targets the same lung tissue, manifests as viral pneumonia, etc. And then there are the differences that make all the difference. One good thing is C-19 isn't as deadly as the original SARS. However, C-19 is way more contagious due to a couple of differences. The first is that SARS-1 only became contagious when symptoms were going on, whereas C-19 can be spread without symptoms. The second major one is the extended survivability outside the body. One thing mentioned was not just saliva droplets but even fecal spray. To summarize with an analogy, it appears that SARS-1 is meaner, but SARS-2 is hungrier.

Another important thing to note is that still to this day there is neither an agreed upon treatment nor vaccine for SARS CoV-1. How that plays into finding a vaccine or effective treatment for this one we'll have to see, but I think it's safe to assume it won't be easy or come quickly.

My personal thoughts are that we lost the ability for containment eradication when it left Wuhan and spread around the globe. Especially now that it has infected millions all over the world. Precautions are absolutely necessary, but the horse is so far out of the barn that we won't be putting it back in by staying home. Only Chinese style forced isolation might beat it back, but I don't think anyone wants that, nor is that a guarantee.

Testing is both critical and difficult. Given the fact this can be spread asymptomatic, in theory everyone not known to be infected is a candidate. How we manage this will be important to overall outcome. Since this can manifest with minor conditions, I'm hopeful it has and will spread broad enough that our bodies are able to fight it off until treatments or a vaccine is detected, but neither is a guaranteed solution for the vulnerable.

And so we fight on!

Knew this would be an issue but they had to push it through quickly so there wasn't a lot of options to change it. This could be a big problem going forward for hourly positions.
