Personally, I believe the outbreak was accidental and most likely caused by the wet market. That's consistent with past outbreaks from China. But I certainly think any and all statements from the PRC should be scrutinized with skepticism and a demand for proof.

Bringing abortion into conversations that have nothing to do with abortion is the religious right's go-to strategy for shutting down conversations they don't want to have and skirting issues they don't want to confront.
