^^^ Does the ratio of COVID to Flu deaths seem suspicious to anyone?

It's 1:3 or 1:4 or less in many/most states then in NY/NJ the numbers are ridiculously the opposite

Seems fishy, like they're inflating COVID deaths? Flu deaths in those states and other democrat controlled states are suspicious

Not enough data to say that, Florda. It's entirely possible that factors already discussed, like population density and the inability to avoid buses and subway for transportation were serious factors.

We'll know later. No sense comparing NYC to the PRC.

Naw, nothing to see in those NY/NJ/Conn/Dem State/PRC #s

Oh yeah, nothing there

Florda, you remind me of that kid who always finished the test first. He usually failed, but he got to say he was done first.

I had fever and flu in January along with others in the office. I took Tami-flu and had a fever for 3 days but it was fairly mild although I did miss some work and have a dry cough for a few days I could not shake. I'm starting to think I need to get an antibody test if they do that nearby. If I did have it I would donate blood plasma to help someone out.

Bold symtoms I had
Italics I did not have

Symptoms that may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus:
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

Or at least two of the following:
Fever
Chills
Repeated shaking with chills
Muscle pain
Headache
Sore throat
New loss of taste or smell

Earlier coronavirus cases confirmed in Nevada after 13 investigation

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) Changing the coronavirus timeline, the state's COVID-19 response team confirms to
Quote:

13 Action News there are earlier cases than the first one reported in Nevada.

That official first case is in March, but 13 Chief Investigator Darcy Spears reported this week, some people are convinced they had it as early as December.

Within just two days of our story airing, the Nevada Health Response team confirmed what the people we spoke to suspected. That they got sick here in Las Vegas in December and January, and the illness was COVID-19.

Many of those people attended conventions and thought those events were super-spreaders.
From Texas to Washington to Colorado, visitors to Las Vegas say they came here for conventions like the Consumer Electronics Show and left sick. Sicker than they've ever been.

Although CES hasn't heard any official word of an attendee being exposed, Nevada officials are now indicating coronavirus was likely here at that time or even before - a key new distinction.

Just the data. After CNN felt compelled to mention over 1,000 new cases on the day Georgia reopened, it was followed by days of just over 700 and 200 respectively and 12 new deaths total over those days. I'm sure an article on the miraculous recovery will be coming shortly....

Thanks for the data

The only increasing numbers come from NY? Why are NY and democrat states constant negative number outliers
I think the answer has nothing to do with politics at all. It is much more likely that it is population density. Your major city centers just tend to be (D).

10 most populous cities in the US:
New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Philly, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas, San Jose.

10 most populous by density in the US, the (D) or (R) represents their Mayor's party affiliation:
New York - (D), San Fran - (D), Jersey City - (D), Paterson (NJ) - (D), Cambridge (MA) - (D) , Daly City (CA) - (D), Boston - (D), Miami - (R) , Santa Ana (CA) - (D), Inglewood (CA) - (D).

France Discovers Coronavirus From China Hit Their Country Much Sooner Than Realized

A hospital in France that retested old samples from pneumonia patients found that it got its first confirmed case of the coronavirus, which originated in Wuhan, China, back in late December nearly a month earlier than previously expected.

Some Napa Businesses Reopen Despite Stay-at-Home Order

Quote:

In Napa, some businesses aren't waiting for the stay-at-home order to be eased. They're opening up now.

At least one art gallery is back in business and some restaurants are allowing on-site dining a step the state has said should still be weeks away from happening.

Fume Bistro on Monday started allowing customers to dine inside after weeks of providing takeout only. Owner Terry Letson said only selling food to-go just isn't enough.

"We, along with some of our colleagues, have decided to go ahead and push ahead," he said.

It's not called the Great Writ for nothing.

The people are calling the bluff of their elected leaders and unelected experts, first in the parks and on the beaches, next in the shops and offices. We are already seeing civil disobedience on a barely containable scale. It will only accelerate as the sun comes out, the debts pile up and the curve of the death rate flattens. Are the police going to arrest the reckless sunbathers of Central Park? No. Are they going to gun down the would-be surfers of Southern California. Of course not.

The United States is leaving the shutdown as it went into it: in disorder and incompetence, in partisan hypocrisy and racialized bickering. The Trump administration sets its course by not governing: its federal order expired at midnight on April 30 and has not been renewed. The President has resumed his informal campaigning with a cross-country trip to a mask factory in Arizona. The mayor of New York City is exposed yet again as an incompetent. It's almost as if we're already back to the old normal.

Almost, but not quite. The virus is still spreading, people are still dying and, as Germany discovered, even a managed reopening accelerates the dynamics of contagion. What we are now seeing is two approaches to risk management. The cautious and technocratic reduction of risk at scale is issuing orders, but large numbers of people, by necessity or habit, prefer to play the odds.

The weight of evidence so far is against him.

What should not weigh in the balance at all is a desire to make this a political point with which to punish China.

In regard to what?

If you mean "Did China create the coronavirus in a lab?" then the evidence so far says their hands are clean. Keeping misinformation in play without better proof just for political points is counter-productive.

Not so much if you are referring to their handling of the flow of information. That was predicated on politics and is a valid tool against them.

But at this point in the thread we are talking about the creation of the virus.

** sigh **

We know China manipulated data at the very least. That gives reason to be suspicious about the creation of the virus as well.

Personally, I believe the outbreak was accidental and most likely caused by the wet market. That's consistent with past outbreaks from China. But I certainly think any and all statements from the PRC should be scrutinized with skepticism and a demand for proof.

By the way, you should hear what's being said in Singapore, Taiwan, and Japan. Nothing Trump has said is remotely as angry as the noise from those countries.

Wet market or inadvertent release from a lab.... China unleashed the C-19 virus resulting in the deaths of thousands of people and catastrophic economic damage throughout the world .

There is no point wasting resources in 'punishing' China as it is not possible or practical to do so .

But acknowledging China's culpability isn't wrong either .
