Actually the problem is not so much state vs. state in most of the country. It is urban center vs. rural / other. Just look at the blue-red election maps and see the blue counties in overwhelming (in land area) red states. If you did such a thing you would have to change the capitals of the states of the "republic states". They typically are blue.
There's definitely a huge urban-rural divide.
For example, in Texas you have blue islands in your major cities. So to divide, states would have to divide within themselves.
The simple answer would be that rural areas are more conservative. But why is that and how do we bridge the gap?

If a person filed a false insurance claim, it is a problem.
Hypothetically, If a person claims his guns were stolen ten years ago, it's not a problem. If it is Beto's SS gun police who have come to pick up guns purchased years ago and the target claims the guns were stolen 10 years ago, the burden of proof is on Beto to show that is untrue. (At least it is on Beto with this supreme court)

The best analogy I can come up with is that this election can be best compared to the New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings NFL playoff game last January 2019 to where a Viking defender blatantly committed pass interference on a Saints receiver that was not called it changed the outcome of the game. The play could not be reviewed and the ref's bad all cost the Saints their season. The NFL admitted they were wrong and screwed up. The final outcome was upheld. Will be the same way with this election. It will be determined that many thousands of votes were cast illegally (which includes thousands of dead people), but the courts will not overturn the "decision." The decision was made by the media and NOT the states.
The NFL fixed this non-reviewable pass interference problem by allowing such a play to be reviewed going forward to ensure the same thing won't happen again. Will the Republicans do the same? I hope we can continue to decide elections at the ballot box. If the dishonesty and cheating happens again, it may be settled in another manner. No more. I am hopeful for a peaceful resolution but am ready for either one.

He's looking for some legal theory he can try to develop and exploit to hold on to power. I am hopeful for a peaceful resolution but am ready for either one.
So far everything from a dead voter who turned out to be the son with the same name and address, to a video of ballot boxes being struffed turning out to be a Russian video, have been thrown out. They even haven't been able to produce the documents they claimed to have in their possession. All dismissed in court.

If the courts find 'big time fraud' they'll render a judgement if there is enough to overturn an election. The best analogy I can come up with is that this election can be best compared to the New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings NFL playoff game last January 2019 to where a Viking defender blatantly committed pass interference on a Saints receiver that was not called it changed the outcome of the game. The play could not be reviewed and the ref's bad all cost the Saints their season. The NFL admitted they were wrong and screwed up. The final outcome was upheld. Will be the same way with this election. It will be determined that many thousands of votes were cast illegally (which includes thousands of dead people), but the courts will not overturn the "decision." The decision was made by the media and NOT the states.
The NFL fixed this non-reviewable pass interference problem by allowing such a play to be reviewed going forward to ensure the same thing won't happen again. Will the Republicans do the same? I hope we can continue to decide elections at the ballot box. If the dishonesty and cheating happens again, it may be settled in another manner. No more.
