Democrats are so weird.
Anyone looking forward to small businesses getting destroyed by Dem policies?
My county just had 15% over capacity for seven days straight. That triggers a whole set of restrictions.
From Gov. Abbott. A Republican.
Stay home, stay under your bed. We'll come tell you when it's safe to come out.
As you are well aware I oppose these restrictions.
But I do wear a mask out of concern for others. I socially distance out of concern for myself. I still go to work, still volunteer, still shop, still eat at restaurants, etc. My annual physical is next week and I'll go in person.
In short, I oppose being commanded, but I can be persuaded.
But do go on about fear and hate.
You should know from my posts that I also wear a mask out of courtesy. My complaint comes when people misuse power and authority and help no one by doing so.
For example, I have surgery scheduled next week to replace my knee. My wife will be driving me back from the surgery, so the original plan was for her to accompany me and wait, but the hospital says because of COVID restrictions, she cannot enter the facility while I have the procedure, but must drop me off and come back when I can go home. But if I need to be admitted overnight,
then she will be allowed to stay with me until I am released.
Same procedure, same staff, only difference is the inpatient/outpatient designation.
That's stupid but rules are rules.
Here's another one.
Politicians are talking about banning 'non-essential' procedures in Harris County again, but here's the thing. Hospitals use staff for more than one task, and generally keep staff available to use as needed. If 'non-essential' procedures are banned, those staff are not able to work and so you have fewer nurses and techs available for real needs, sometimes when lives are in danger. What's more, COVID patients generally do not require operating rooms, they will in a worst-case require ICU beds and ventilators, while 'non-essential' procedures require neither ICU beds nor ventilators. So not a single COVID patient is helped by banning 'non-essential' procedures, but quality of life
is impacted by banning 'non-essential' procedures which can be very important to the patient, such as eye surgery, implants, joint replacements, and so on. These moronic rules happen because politicians want to look important, but have no idea that their rules are no helping anyone, but actually cause more pain and suffering.
That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier
