Looking like a top 10 matchup vs the Cyclones on 1/1/22!!!!

It wasn't always pretty, but the Bears get the dub:

I'll take it. A road win is always a good win

Road games are hard and that team has talent. Good win

It's there a way to never have that SOB ref a game against us again? Also F Oregon and their punk coach and seizure inducing court. Stop playing them

#6 Alabama and #9 Nova should drop and #11 Iowa St should move into the top10.

Tough road win. Brown is a mean, mean man. Sic 'Em!

Not only a road game, but one at 9pm - their body clocks aren't used to that time. Took them 12 minutes to wake up, but they did it

Higgins was just being Higgins tonight. One of the many measures of how good our program is right now is the fact that unlike a lot of years in the past, we're good enough to overcome his crap - like we did tonight.

Yep this is a hard game for our guys to have to wait that long to play. Also we got Oregon's best tonight. They had this game circled

Really proud of our Bears. They probably had Semester Finals, plus some hangover from the Villanova game, then a long flight, and a perfect trap game. Tough win.

I'm gonna savor every moment Kendall Brown is in a Baylor jersey this year. We've never had a freshman, at least in the 2000s, who could do the things he does. He is only gonna be here a year, but man is he fun to watch!!!!!!!

Nice win, a big 1st half for Flagler personally (hopefully this is a sign he's over the early season transition to the starting lineup and the subsequent hand injury) and for the team as he kept us in it, then a dominant 2nd half with great showings from Brown and Akinjo, and only atypical FT shooting keeping it from looking like a blowout.

For sure. Kid is so smooth. Its tantalizing to think where he'd rank among the all-time Bears if he wasn't almost certainly one-and-done.

Seriously. How many 5* freshmen are as obviously bought-in as he is? Or play defense as hard as he does? What a player!

He's already going number 1. How much higher can he go?

On another note, I have been watching and playing basketball for 50 years and I never ever remember a player dribbling the ball being called for a foul when a player running in front of them with their back turned to them deliberately slows down. Never, ever!

It's because of that gem of an idiot ref.

I don't think he's going top 3, but he's definitely lottery and I'd be surprised if he goes outside the top 10.

It's the Higgins effect.

It's a bit early to be predicting the draft (always fun, though). There is still a whole lot of season to be played. My dream is that somehow we get both freshmen for at least one more year. I know, it's a pipe dream but it is Christmastime.

Brown can jump out of the gym and all the Sports Center highligts are incredible, but I am even more impressed by all the intangibles that will make him a great pro:

*unselfish, coachable, humble nature. Very uncommon for a top 5 lottery pick willing to accept a complementary role on his college team. Most one-and-done guys are only looking to boost their draft stock at the expense of team goals.

*only 18 years old but extremely high BBIQ....already plays like a seasoned college vet. Always under control, picks his spots, low useage, doesn't force anything. Knows how to play with other great players so will blend immeditely as an NBA role player with the upside to grow into much more as his career progresses.

*Weaknesses? Obviously his perimeter shooting. But given his humble nature and work ethic, I'm fully confident he'll work himself into a competent free throw shooter and will be proficient from the corner 3.

Why do I thnk he should be given very serious considertion as a top 5 pick? His youth and supreme athleticism gives him the high ceiling that scouts look for, but he also possesses the elite intangibles that give him a high floor with almost no bust potntial. What players in this draft will rival his combination of high floor / high celing?

God thinking. Higgins did surprise me. I thought he would have the ducks in the double, double, double bonus by the 8 minute mark of 2nd half. Guess the whistle used up all his lung capacity in 1st half.

All truisms. Also, I really like the way he lets his game speak for himself. Excellent self control. How does it go, speak softly and jam that stick through the hoop?
