In his weekly conversation with SicEm365 Radio, Baylor Vice President and Directory of Athletics Mack Rhoades gave his opinion on the four programs expected to join the Big 12 in the coming years.

SicEm365 Radio: Was there any discussion — and maybe you can't discuss it, but I have to ask — when you were in Phoenix, whether it was UCF or Houston or Cincinnati entering the conference perhaps next summer and not the summer after that?

Mack Rhoades: Yeah, there was conversation. And I would, not without necessarily divulging top secret information, I feel good personally. I think there's a good likelihood that those three will join in July of 2023 and we'll be on our way and we'll navigate 14 teams for a couple of years, and then get down to 12.

Obviously the conference will have to navigate many more items, including scheduling, football and basketball and all of our sport programs, and TV media deal, and all of those things.

But I'm excited and I thought there was a lot of energy in Phoenix with the meetings. We had the four incoming. They were there; athletic directors, SWA's, football, men's and women's basketball coaches, and so I thought it was a good time for us to be together and a lot of positivity and excitement for the future.

You can hear the full interview with Rhoades here.
