This team reminds of before the Jared Butler era. Lots of shooting and not the best defense. We got work to do. We will keep getting better.

George now 23 points, 5 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals

He's 8-11 from the field, 6-9 from 3.

74 of our 83 points have come from the starting 5.

9 points from the bench.

Rebounding is going to be an issue all season unless we can get JTT back. Lots to work on. I'll take a W anyway especially against a really solid MM team. Back to the drawing board and onto Northern Colorado Monday night

Beautiful alley oop from George to Lohner for the slam.

Nice win against a team likely to win the MEAC for the 3rd year in a row and make another appearance in the NCAAs.

Offensive firepower is obvious. Defense gonna have to keep working toward progress throughout the year like a lot of teams.

Drew had mentioned defense challenges before the season. You could really tell tonight. We will get better and we will have growing pains with so many new faces.

Huh? We were up by at least 12 when you posted this. We didn't play our best game obviously, but dude. Chill out.

Dainja has 14 rebounds so far midway through the second half for Illinois against a really bad UMKC.

Wish he had fit in better here.

Could really use him this year. We're gonna need JTT back and that's a scary thought. We got bullied a good chunk of tonight down low. Norfolk St is a physical team but that can't be happening against inferior opponents

Yes. Nice win for Baylor tonight!

Just develop the defense more. Would love the Bears get dominant with steals and fast breaks. It is a process.

Virgina played a pre school team tonight but from what I saw they have a strong inside presence. Will be interesting to see how we handle that. One more game till we find out what this team is really made of! I'm bullish!

He went 20pts and 15reb! I always thought he had upside but sheesh! We missed out.

Dainja was lazy when he was here according to both teammates and coaches, and I'll never understand why. He let himself get out of shape and didn't really show any interest in changing. I think the coaching staff just got frustrated with him, particularly when they looked around and saw everyone else busting their humps.

I'm not sure whether it was a family member, friend, former coach or what, but someone gave him a swift kick in the butt and he responded. Maybe he woke up and realized he was throwing away a prime chance in life. He transferred to Illinois and completely transformed his body. Look at him now. He is not the pudgy, soft guy he was at Baylor. He is built to perform at a P5 level. I just wish all of that would have taken place here, but sometimes things don't work out at one place but do with a change of scenery. Ironically, we may go against both Mayer and him next weekend.

Defensively we have miles to go but I am confident our staff will get us there. Not to single anyone out but Lohner has been a disappointment so far. He has been tentative and frequently out of position defensively. We need him to be the next glue guy in the rotation following in the footsteps of Sochan and Vital, but has fallen woefully short of that so far. Josh O is raw and his minutes will be limited by poor decisions and foul trouble. We desperately need our coaching staff to get him up to speed because he is the only rim protector we have outside of Thamba. I am confident our coaches will coach 'em up. Team defense is about cohesiveness and communication, and we have the best coaching staff in America to get them ready by the time conference play rolls around.

Offensively we are already looking like a well-oiled machine. 4 of our 5 starters can scorch from downtown. We are unselfish and will feed the hot hand so no defense can slow us down. Bridges has exceeded my expectations so far he will be a huge upgrade from what Kendall Brown and Maher gave us last year.

Keyonte has exceeded my expectations and my expectations were already through the roof. He is crafty, unselfish, and lets the game come to him without ever forcing anything. He is cerebral and always makes the correct basketball decision. Unlike a lot of one-and-done guys, his draft status is not predicated on athleticism or future potential rather skill, basketball IQ, and feel for the game. We are so fortunate to enjoy watching him play for us this year.

Sounds easy enough. That's probably where the term "easier said than done" comes from.
