WACO, Texas — Baylor Men’s Basketball head coach Scott Drew earned his 400th win at Baylor tonight as his Bears (3-0) blew past Northern Colorado (1-2) 95-62.

LJ Cryer led all scorers with 20 points on 50% shooting including 4-for-9 from deep.

Jalen Bridges had a strong performance for the second game in a row with 15 points, the second most for the Bears.

Adam Flagler got off to a hot start, nailing an early three and racking up 11 points and three assist before halftime en route to a 13-point ten assist double-double.

Speaking on his development at point guard, Flagler said that he is “continuing to grow in the new role… Credit to my teammates for constantly getting open.”

Elsewhere Dale Bonner and Keyonte George both delivered very good performances in the first half as well.

Bonner went for six points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals. Meanwhile, George racked up five points, two boards, four assists, a steal and two drawn charges.

Bonner in particular helped spark a couple of early runs that turned a 5-2 slow start into a 17-7 lead and extend that lead with an 8-0 run.

Keyonte pushed that lead to its largest mark late in the half with a three-pointer to make it 44-24 before the visitors got a bucket before the horn to bring it back to 44-26 at halftime.

After some back and forth for the first five minutes of the second half, the Bears took their 15-point lead and more than doubled it.

Cryer sparked the breakaway with a three and another bucket before helping cap off what became a 21-1 run with another triple.

George and Bonner, with the help of Josh Ojianwuna, saw the game out through the final stretch.

Bonner, a great jack of all trades for this team so far, finished with 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and six steals. Not to mention his two dunks.

“He's taken another step forward... Dale is a tremendous player, and Dale helps you in so many different ways. There's not a better ball mover in the country. We call him Mr. Point-Five, he gets to the paint and moves it."

George had a “mere” twelve points, seven boards and six assists, while Josh O netted six points as well.

Overall, the team shot 53% from the field, went 10-31 from deep, and 11-16 from the charity stripe with 10 turnovers.

Not a bad way for Scott Drew to earn win number 400 at Baylor.

“I’ve been very blessed,” said Drew after the game, “God’s given me great players, coaches, staff, administrators… 400 wins, that's a team award.”

But now Drew and his team will quickly turn their attention toward No. 16 Virginia and the Continental Tire Main Event in Las Vegas this weekend.

“We’re excited going to Las Vegas, another opportunity to win on a big stage,” said Flagler on the Las Vegas tournament that lies ahead.

“We have a lot to show at the end of the day.”
