Ten Things That Stood Out Against Virginia

Baylor and Virginia squared off at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday. Here are at least ten thoughts of what it was like being there.

  1. Way too much orange, either UVA or Illinois, in the stands compared to Green and non-existent blue. Fran Fraschilla is great as always.
  2. Baylor is more athletic of the two teams, but the slow physical play of Virginia is making the Bears earn points
  3. Josh O is not having a great day in the paint defensively. UVA is taking advantage of his inexperience.
  4. Pretty sure Beekman’s dad is sitting behind us as he’s the only kid he’s cheering for at the moment.
  5. Baylor has started to heat up from 3 and it is making all the difference in the game. Officials being a little too tight with the Bears defensive effort
  6. Second half has been a bit sloppy on offense and UVA has gotten into the lead. Baylor stops the momentum with a timeout and Lohner and Bonner coming into the game to turn up the defense.
  7. Danger Zone....
  8. Getting outhustled at this point and the Bears are struggling offensively
  9. And the defense and offense have decided to take a break from the game for the Bears. Need points and stops badly.
  10. And I’m just bringing bad luck to the Baylor Athletic Department by being in Las Vegas
  11. That is the weakest flagrant foul call I have ever seen in basketball
  12. Bears within 10 at the under 6 after being down 21
  13. Careless turnovers at the end quelled the comeback
  14. Bears lose, I’m off to Zion National Park
