#12 Baylor (7-2) beats an aggressive Tarleton State (5-4) team 80-57 behind 22 points from Keyonte George and 20 points from Langston Love. Dale Bonner did a good job running point in the absence of Adam Flagler (sick) and LJ Cryer (back).
Positives
- Another terrific defensive performance by the Bears holding Tarleton State to 57 points despite giving them 29 free throw attempts.
- Langston Love, Dale Bonner and Keyonte George did a solid job handling Tarleton State’s relentless ball pressure. Love (20 points) and George (22 points) gave the Bears the needed scoring lift.
- The Bears did a good job making free throws (21-29).
- I thought Jalen Bridges played solid defense, did a good job on the glass (8 rebounds) and zero turnovers.
Needs Work
- The Bears turned it over 19 times and committed 24 fouls but both of those are probably due to the opponent more than anything
- The officiating was terrible. Darren George was particularly egregious. That call on Lohner to give him his fourth foul was WEAK.
- Josh’s defense... it needs a lot of work. He will get better.
