From what I've heard, Shapen looked rocky. Going to be another disappointing year if he doesn't improve and Robertson doesn't step up

I was there. Blake didn't look rocky. I was impressed with both. Oline was somewhat inconsistent. Defense looked ok and rushed the qb pretty good.

That's encouraging to hear. Folks on the 247 board were saying that shapen looked inconsistent, but I never saw a final stat line or anything. How did Sawyer Robertson look? I had heard that the front seven on defense looked to be the strength of the team?

Shapen looked good after his 1st drive. Lots of nice, on the money, middle to deep passes.
Robertson looked pretty good as well; lead a TD drive on his 1st poss (vs 2nd team D)
I still think Shapen is QB1 starting the season, and hopefully he plays well & BU wins a lot so there is never any question as to who should be playing.

Frosh RB Bryson Washington from Franklin looked legit as well.

Sawyer would have clearly won but Grimes won't let him throw the dang ball. Seriously, Grimes ran it 66-70%. Ridiculous! This O sucks!

And I thought the offense was 10 times better than last year. Much more difficult for the opponent to prepare for.

Just watched the game. I really like our depth at running back. I agree that the Washington kid looks like a future star. Tight ends looked better than the receivers. Is Armani Winfield hurt?

I thought shapen looked solid all things considered, and I'll admit that this offense makes it difficult for a quarterback to find a rhythm in the passing game.
