Bears lose by 7

Lost to really good 3 point shooting, weak defense at key points, and hurt by a few bad calls.

A couple calls our way and this may have been a different end.

Congrats to BYU, hope the team gets back on track against Houston

Don't know why we didn't at least try zone. I get it that conventional wisdom is don't zone a good 3 point shooting team, but sine they were torching our man defense in every way possible (including from beyond the arc) didn't see what we had to lose by trying it.

BYU is good. Our D was frustrating to watch.

Was really hoping for the W to have a tie for first place on the line on Saturday.

Now we will be in a tie for 3rd with KU and either TT or TCU.

-When you have 8 total assists in a game and all 8 came from one player, you have a team problem with moving the basketball on offense. You're basically playing one-on-one ball.

-I'm tired of complaining about the D. The signs after the past 2 years are obvious. There's a fundamental coaching or recruiting issue on the defensive side of the ball that needs to get fixed.

I mean, if we're just throwing crap at the wall, I guess you can try it, but if the other team is shooting like they were tonight, it's a recipe to get blown out by 25+. Especially if you're having trouble rebounding as it is.

It's a major problem. We've missed on nearly every defensive eval we've done recently. And there is an instruction/ knowledge retention issue as well.

I do think Nunn has finally improved. I'm at a loss with the others. Dennis is okay at very limited times. Our footwork is some of the worst I've seen.

I agree. I appreciate that he plays hard and tries to contribute in other ways, but he simply isn't as advertised as far as a scorer goes. Disappointing.

That's the issue. Houston is prime for a zone. But I'm worried they'll literally out rebound us by 25 if we go primarily zone.
Than again if we go man Shead May break the layups made record

This game is a perfect example of how in "flow" sports, the most important (and often forgotten) thing is what offensive players do when they don't have the ball.

He is our leading scorer, on a team that is very balanced in scoring, so I don't think that's an accurate assessment. But, he was advertised as a great three point shooter, and he's been anything but in conference play.
