Baylor Basketball No. 10 in ESPN's Way-Too-Early Top 25 for 2024-25
ESPN Staff Writer Jeff Borzello offered his takes on who will reload best for the next college basketball season in a Way-Too-Early Top 25 article the day after UConn was crowned champion for the second straight season.
The Bears came in at No. 10 with a projected starting lineup of Robert Wright, Jayden Nunn, V.J. Edgecombe, Langston Love and Josh Ohianwuna.
Borzello notes the year of eligibility Jalen Bridges has remaining as well as the relative lack of frontcourt standouts on the roster.
Important rules Borzello gave himself included expecting anyone in the top 60 of ESPN’s NBA Draft rankings was considered gone to the NBA. Those outside of the top 60 like Bridges are considered returning, though it’s not clear if Baylor’s ranking is helped by Bridges since he is not listed in the lineup.
Other Big 12 teams in the rankings include No. 3 Kansas, No. 5 Iowa State, No. 7 Houston, No. 8 Arizona, No. 14 BYU, and No. 25 Cincinnati.
With decisions to leave, return or transfer constantly being announced, the rankings are already at least a little out of date, but that is the nature of the beast.
