Hate to miss this one for sure. Was there in '74 and still remember start to finish.

Fall semester of my senior year at BU. I recall seriously considering leaving at halftime of the UT game like a lot of people did, but I'm glad I didn't because I would've missed seeing some real history happen. Remember it like it was yesterday - man do I feel old.

I've probably said this before on here, but I was there. A few personal, and irrelevant details… I was a second year law student and we were in the middle of finals ( law school was on the quarter system). Had just taken Prof Guinn's Constitutional law final. It was a break from studying to go, and that game really created a feeling that I will never forget.
A bit of trivia that some will know….SMU also beat A&M that day which, after our win, put us in the drivers seat to win the conference championship, which we did. It was a glorious day.

Felt hopeless about halftime but Texas tight end Tommy Ingram, from Copperas Cove, dropped a pass either right before half or early in 3rd quarter. It would've been another Texas touchdown but with the drop I thought "we might still have a chance, think I'll hang around!" Second half was electric.

I had graduated in the fall of '74 and was living in Colorado when the game happened.
Back then ABC only carried one college football game a week.
I saw the score at the bottom of the screen and called my brother from a pay phone to have him tell me about the entire game.
He was there, and gave me a detailed, blow-by-blow account.
I asked him why he hadn't left at halftime and he replied, "I just had a feeling we were going to come back."

Fast forward several decades: He sat by me as we watched the comeback against TCU from 21 points down in the 4th quarter.

He got to witness two of the greatest games in Baylor football history.

Without a doubt! As a young kid, the '74 game was surreal. As an old guy, the TcU comeback win brought me that same joy. Here's to a few more soon!
