I mentioned the possibility several weeks ago, though I never really believed it would happen.

This turnaround has been really remarkable.

Same here. Those old Baylorfans boards were just as bleak during the low points and then the team found themselves. Love seeing a similar turnaround happen again to this team.

The success rate in college is around 20%. In other words, it's a desperate miracle play. Completely stupid. Don't defend the decision. It was a blatant attempt to lose. But we won anyway.

How can this be negative in any way? BU is on a roll. Coach deserves credit, same as he deserves blame for losses. How can anyone be credible if you don't call it both ways.

So no one should ever try it unless they are down multiple scores late? The decision is the decision. I don't condone doing it, but if you're going to do it, that's the time to do it. If they had pulled it off and gotten 3 or 7 points, you wouldn't be saying it was stupid.

BU turnaround starting to get some attention. This guy has 500K followers and works in the NFL writing and does the play by play for the Chargers. So...not connected to B12 football.

It wasn't an attempt to lose. It was quite the opposite actually. It was an attempt to put the game away before halftime.

I didn't agree with the decision at the time and I'm still not crazy about it now. But Dave has been accused a lot in the past of playing not to lose. No one can accuse him of that tonight. He was aggressively coaching to win that game. He was just a little too aggressive IMO.

Fortunately, it worked out fine in the end.

Our touchdown after their quick score completely negated the impact of that decision anyway.

I had no problem with it at the time. And still don't. We had grabbed the momentum and he wanted to push it even further. This is a game of emotion, not statistics.

And as it turned out, it didnt matter. They scored on a long run that he broke into the clear afterwards. Would have been just scoring from a longer run that he broke into the clear, if they had run exactly the same play

Going for the kill is something we have never seen out of Dave. That was an attempted kill shot. He missed but it shows signs of improvement from him.

Correct. You wouldn't go for it on 4th and 9 at your own 20 if you were up by 2 touchdowns. Would you?
Same thing. It's an unnecessary risk. And as you can see,
It didn't work.

And it didnt miss by much. Beautifully setup, could have been the dagger at that moment instead of later

Yep, we definitely need a talent upgrade in our secondary. And I am willing to pony up $$$ to get that upgrade.

He's been far more emotive on the sidelines this season IMO. I've seen him rip into the defense on a number of occasions this year.

I'd like to see him work the refs better. He doesn't need to throw hissy fits like Gary Patterson or Neal Brown, but there are times as a head coach where I perceive that it is appropriate and necessary to voice your displeasure for questionable calls. Not because it's going to change the call, but because the team feeds off of that vibe/whatever you want to call it

But then again, we're on a four game win streak, so maybe just keep doing what he's doing

I think you could classify Aranda as "stoic"

Being calm and collected is not apathy. Aranda gets after people when needed. It's not always needed.

I would like to see it too but it;s his personality type. It means we need more natural leaders around him including players. While we wish to see more of a AAA type out of him, the players and recruits seem to like him as he is. That's important too. Let's just hope to win out and we'll all feel better about the future.

Seems to be getting his feet under him. Sometimes it takes time and this has not been the easiest time to navigate CFB.

Man that Colorado game is going to haunt me for a while. Baylor wins that game and we are actually alive in the Big12 championship race.

For me, that one and the '22 TCU loss in Waco have be the two biggest gut wrenching L's since the Michigan State collapse in the 1/1/15 Cotton Bowl.

I've been an Aranda critic for sure, but I don't mind this decision. Yes, it backfired since WVU scored quickly, but I thought it was well timed and actually did make some sense based on these factors:

1. Our defense at that point was not really stopping WVU anyway.
2. Aranda probably figured (and rightly) that our offense was going to score a lot.
