George's reputation was having the most polished skills in the class.. just inconsistent and not a "great" athlete. VJ is the first really athletic 5 star we've had in awhile. I agree on Tounde.. which is why the staff should be planning on him not being a driver on offense. Coaching and roster developement/construction issue.

Agreed. I am so done with one and dones. Sure the two from last year are doing pretty well in the NBA, but that doesn't really help Baylor. Honestly, for most one and dones the NBA could give two rips where and how they played their college ball. The attraction was already there while they were were in high school. So saying a coach puts xx players in the NBA rings pretty hollow.

Serious question for anybody in the know: Do have an actual GM role for the basketball program? Need somebody in that role who doesn't fixate on sexy 5 star players or transfers who were on brand name teams. We need good college basketball team players.

The answer is no, we don't have a GM. The biggest issue is Drew & Staff keep constructing rosters that are almost completely turned over yearly.
Just look at what will have to replace this off season… Omier, Roach, Nunn, VJ. We should also kindly ask Langston to transfer. And there's no guarantee we hang onto Rob Wright. We're virtually starting from scratch yet again next season

Even more staggering stat is that if you remove the creampuff games (Arlington Baptist, Tarleton, etc.) from our stats, we would currently be #12 in the Big 12 in FG% and #14 in 3 point shooting percentage.

This isn't just a today issue playing a Top 5 team at their place.

We've become a showcase program, and it sucks. We're just a vehicle for freshmen to play roles they're not ready for and transfers to come and prove they can do things and play positions they weren't allowed to at their previous stops.

It makes for a lot of frustrating basketball that's not at all fun to watch.
