It's definitely an unpopular take. But this team is absolutely poorly coached

CSD has a lifetime contract at BU ... and it shows. You can't get away with this crap in Lexington. Similar take on Dan Hurley.
So tell me this:

Who wants the Baylor job, who Baylor would hire, who could reasonably be expected to produce at least a Final Four finish in the next two years?

Far as I am concerned, the only coach who we could expect to lead Baylor to a Final Four or better between now and 2028 is Scott Drew.

That doesn't mean I am enjoying the losses this year. But I am not forgetting what Drew accomplished here, and I think it is very unfair to pretend he is coasting or doesn't want a title more than any of us online posters.

I fully expect Drew to turn the program around again. The sooner the better but I have no idea how long it will take.

Stop, Oldbear, suggesting that Scott Drew is actually a good coach is not permitted during game threads.

Not calling for Drew's head. He has earned it, and there aint nobody we would want coming to Waco if he ever leaves. Give me 2 rounds in the tournament every other year and an occasional Elite Eight and I'm pleased as punch. However there is ZERO denying that such expectations would not fly at Kentucky.

Where did anyone say CSD isn't a good coach? This is however, a poor coached team. Stevie Wonder can see that

Drew is a great coach. It hasn't always been obvious since the natty but we have had some great games during that time.

And we still have that 2021 natty.

The team is poorly coached is very different than 'the team hasn't played well'. You have neither played nor coached competitive basketball to be able to make the assessment that the team is or is not poorly coached.

So this particular team is well coached? What in actual **** do you watch weekly?
Do you watch the defense? Do you watch the situational play? Apparently not. Drew's has a ton of very well coached teams. This isn't one of them. And that's not just on Drew. His staff plays a role.
The whole "you need to coach or have played at a high level" to have an opinion is hilarious

The Pokes last scored at the 3:47 mark. Our defense is playing better late in the half.

One stat in our favor: we have 2 players each with 2 fouls. The Pokes have five. Some of them might get in foul trouble in the second half. I hate that our expectations might depend on the opposing players fouling out.

Now we have 2 plays with 3 fouls each while they only have 1.

I suppose there's a handful of posters on the KU boards saying Bill Self can't coach too. Just ridiculous.

This isn't your normal take. A ton of very well coached teams? You ragged on him before we won the championship. Your posts this year have been "we suck on defense and have for three years". He constructs the team poorly, he makes no adjustments, etc. etc.

You can have an opinion about basketball without ever playing or coaching ... but I've never even said "high level". I have said at least the varsity level of some sport. I stand by that. You don't know what it means to work hard as a team. If you've never experienced the difference between good and bad coaching, how can you make an educated observation about what being well coached even means? To suggest that a player, coach, or worse an entire team has "given up" is absurd - and you would know that if you have ever been a part of a team beyond the JV or youth sports level. I know that you think it's hilarious to say that, but not experiencing that does prevent you from a perspective that you aren't even aware of.

I rag on Drew far less than tons if posters. I'm actually quite complimentary of Drew on here. As far as my credibility because apparently that's needed. Yes I played varsity ball… also played College football… why any of that matters is beyond me. What level of ball did you play ? Since that apparently matters. I'm just surprised you have time to argue with someone you once called a "wife beater"

Yeah… a few minutes ago it felt like we were about to put it out of reach. Then we've let them back in.

Starting lineup is 0-14 from 3 pt. Add Nunn and it's 2-21. Roach is 4-6. Team 22%. Open looks at home. Not good.

Nunn and Roach playing at this level is huge. Gonna need that if the Bears have any chance of pulling the upset in Ft Worth next week

Speaking of radio broadcasts, they usually have JM and Pat Nunley on the radio feed playing on speakers in the restrooms. I have no idea what station it is turned to tonight but it isn't the game broadcast.
