Incredible to read these posts! I am so damn proud of Norchad and VJ. They are great ambassadors for the team and the school even if they were only here for one year. Wish we would have one more year with both of them. Hope Wright sticks and makes this his team. If he stays there is a great shot to bring in guys that will want to play with him.

That press conference put it back in perspective for me

VJ is projected to go VERY high in the NBA draft. Any chance that he stays just because of the camaraderie?

I like that we erased an overrated SEC team which was seeded higher. The season turned out a bit better than I thought it would, once I realized that yet another year, the coaching staff seems to not prioritize defensive fundamentals.

Looking forward to next year. Our best seasons have come after 1 of 2 things, in my opinion. Hiring an NBA level big man coach, and somehow, by the miracle of covid, getting Butler and Mitchell to stay way too long.

So my wish list for next season is about 3 things. Get a proper bigs coach, get an assistant who understands NBA defense, and recruit hard for the next roster.

This season really seemed to be a dumpster fire at one point, glad we turned it into something to build on.

No team with a sub .500 conference record should be in.

1 game under with quality wins, I am fine with it.

More than that, no. Putting OU and UT in was stupid and frankly the committee should apologize for it. They were very intentionally trying to get SEC the record.

That makes some sense. I'm not sure about several teams with worse records getting in. The SEC had 6. Arkansas won 2 games. The other five won zero. They pretty much priced my point. It's not just Texas & OU.

After it was over, most of us probably dismissed it. But it makes sense that it would be a distraction felt by the team for awhile.

I still think the main reason for the problems was losing key staff members in a short time. The new guys didn't have enough time to fully integrate into the program and implement their ideas while also recruiting & developing players. It must be a really tall order for a program to do that once. Baylor MBB did it twice in the offseason and Tang moving on wasn't much earlier.

FYI we were in the game and then their 12th man took over.

I was thinking more of a recruiting issue with the 'Kentucky thing'. Did we lose out on a recruit because of his flirtation?

I can't remember the timeline. Bot that's from the horse's mouth Scott himself so obviously he thinks it was an issue.

That team would destroy Gonzaga, Houston, Auburn or Tn. This Duke team could definitely keep it close but the 21' team probably wins.

Thamba was surprisingly good against true bigs and Vital/Jon would take turns on Flagg.

That 21 team may be the greatest of all time certainly of its era it's silly to compare other teams to it.

Yep it's disrespect. That 21' Gonzaga team probably beats all those teams too. I don't think they realize how nasty that team was.

A top tier Villanova team the next year had 37 points. For the game.
Best defensive performance I've witnessed in my lifetime,

I can assure you the NCAA has equal dislike of Tennessee but maybe some crew bucks the trend and calls a straight game

SEC will make sure Duke doesn't get the home cooking we saw yesterday. One thing SEC does better than anyone else is protect their own, B12 can take a lesson.

In football but ACC has the been the traditional power broker of basketball. They've been surpassed as of late but the SEC was a little down in football last year and we saw how that still worked out for Arizona State
