WACO, Texas — During his weekly media session on Wednesday, Baylor head coach Matt Rhule told reporters that the staff plans for junior cornerback Grayland Arnold to miss the remainder of season.

Arnold will be able to preserve a year of eligibilty with a redshirt according to the new NCAA rule implemented prior to the start of the 2018 season. The rule allows players to compete in up to four contests without losing a year of eligibilty.

After playing in the first four games of the season, Arnold has missed each of the last five contests while recovering from an ankle injury.  Arnold totaled six solo tackles and returned two punts for 12 yards while starting three of the four games.

The Kountze (TX) High School product signed with Baylor in 2016 class and has started 16 games in his career as a Bear. In 24 games played Arnold has collected 61 total tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, one interception and has defended 12 passes.

Arnold missed the first three games of his sophomore season after suffering a broken arm in fall camp.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound corner will return to the field as a redshirt junior in 2019.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
This would be great if it works out. He will be really good as a 5th year senior.

He is already pretty darn good so it will be interesting to see what he does the next two years. Hopefully a lockdown corner.
