The ultimate tailgate package for Baylor’s 2019 season!

The Big 12 this week is highlighted by close matchups that include two game-winning drives.

Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5

Week 6

TCU 13 , Iowa State 20 (Ames)

Defense, defense, defense. This is an ugly game as both offenses struggle at times to get consistent offense. Both defenses force two turnovers and get 5+ sacks, the offenses are forced to kick five field goals. Brock Purdy hits Deshaunte Jones for a 30-yard touchdown in the 4th quarter to show some life. Matthew Baldwin finds Jalen Reagor for a 50 yard touchdown to respond but they leave too much time on the clock. Brock Purdy drives down the field thanks to his legs as he runs for 40 yards on the last drive and hits Charlie Kolar in the corner of the end zone for the win.

Texas 31 , West Virginia 14 (Morgantown)

This is a revenge game for Texas and I expect the Longhorns to play like it. Sam Ehlingher and company get the run game going as the Longhorns top 250 yards on the ground and 250 yards through the air. The West Virginia offense turns the ball over three times and Texas scores 17 points off of those turnovers. The Texas defense makes some big stands to go along with the turnovers which allows them to keep the lead throughout.

Oklahoma State 45 , Texas Tech 48 (Lubbock)

This will be the shootout of the week. Alan Bowman and Spencer Sanders both come out and throw three touchdowns in the first half. TJ Vasher catches two touchdowns but so does Tylan Wallace. The battle continues in the second half. Bowman leads three straight scoring drives for the Red Raiders to start the half but Sanders matches him every step of the way. With under two minutes to go Alan Bowman steps up with some big throws down the stretch including a 10-yard touchdown pass to McLan Mannix for the game-winner in Lubbock.

Baylor 31 , Kansas State 19 (Manhattan)

Baylor finally has a major road test and it comes one week after getting a huge conference win over the Cyclones. The Bears come out a little bit flat but lucky for them the Wildcats are struggling badly on the offensive side of the ball. Neither teams score much early but the Wildcats are up 6 as half-time approaches when Charlie Brewer hits Tyquan Thornton for a 25-yard touchdown to give Baylor the lead and wake them up a little bit. In the second half, Brewer and the Bears pass game gets going as Josh Fleeks and Sqwirl Williams grab touchdown receptions and the defense holds Kansas State to six second-half points.

Oklahoma 51 , Kansas 17 (Lawrence)

Blow out. Jalen Hurts and company roll into Lawrence and beat the brakes off of Les Miles and company. Jalen Hurts goes for 400 total yards of offense and the Sooners rack up 300 yards rushing with Sermon and Brooks. This game gets out of hand early and continues throughout. Too much offense for Kansas to keep up.

This is the Dream Scenario so far; 5-0 and on top of the Big12 standings. Everything is going to have to be going the Bears way for this to come to fruition.
Well I ain't no greenhorn!!

We can always hope. 5-0 is a lofty expectation to set, might as well.

At the very least we will need to score more points than the 5 opponents in each of these games I feel.
